Huet for MVP?
Permalink Closed

Barry brings up good points about Huet. Without him, we don't see the playoffs. How many games has he saved our hides and kept us from free falling while Theo was being the "Gainey Project"? Now he's hot and on a roll. This is a team that continues to be out shot every game.

The players love him, because he continually saves their hides.

If this keeps up, and we make the playoffs, our MVP has to be Huet.

If we go to the playoffs, you have to at least start with the guy that got you there. He's our number one now and should be in the playoffs. No way does Gainey tamper with this chemistry now at this stage of the season. It would be like starting your fourth string pitcher in the world series.

I don't think Gainey will tamper with the goaltending situation until the end of the season. He said just that during the Olympic break...the fact that he would take it game by game. One game in, one "W" for Huet.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if Huet continues to put up the wins, he should be our MVP and deserve to start in the playoffs. It's to late in the season to start up the "Theo Project". That has to be put on hold until next season to clear his mind and gain confidence.

IF we make the playoffs, its a no brainer...Huet gets MVP. Its too bad that it took half the season for us to find him....i think with the way hes playing he could maybe even run for the HArt trophy. I dont know about you but he reminds me of the Theo of 2001-02!
