 Which player ended his NHL career in 78-79? During his career his dad was shot. After his career he move to Florida and was charged with murder. He was found not quilty but then later was shot and killed himself during a mugging.


 I find his career interestingly troubled and tragic. That is why I bring up the question. Again who is this player?

I believe that would be Spinner Spencer.

 You got it Nil! I seen the movie "Gross Misconduct" last night for the first time.


 For those that haven't seen it, it's worth the rent. Man that guy was troubled! It reminded me of the sad life of John Kordic!

I saw that movie years ago.  I also read the book. 


(I also read Kordic's book.  In a sense, the Spencer story is more tragic since it wasn't entirely self-inflicted, as I think most of Kordic's troubles were.)


Wasn't the Courtnalls' father also murdered?

 I think Mr. Courtnall may of commited suicide? Anyone know about this?
