Who would have expected this final? Well, not many I think? I myself thought of a final Canada vs. Czech. The Finns most deserved to go to the Finals, and now it's gonna be a tough Northern Europe matchup. I hope and bet the Finns are going to get the GOLD. Go Finns Go, go Saku go, go Olli go, go Ville go, go Petteri go. Some guys would say it's like a matchup Stars vs. Red Wings ....
We have awful history against Sweden so this is the worst final opponent what Finland could get. But I am glad that Finland is in finals, because nobody couldn´t expected that.

It will depend Power. If Finland gets the lead they play that highly entertaining 1-4 trap. That shut down Canada and Russia. Russia has more firepower than Canada. I say Finland wins if they get a lead.

I am not that sure about that, if I recall it right so in 2004 world championsips Finlands lead was 5-1 against Sweden and they lost it 5-6.

Yes, that was a crazy game, I can recall it. But it WON'T happen TWICE! Hey, I would love to be in Finland now with all these lovely girls and great hockey to watch ....
2-2 after two periods! The Swedes elevated their game in the 2nd, taking the lead, but the Finns could again equalise. Will be interesting to see if the Swedes can keep their game at high pace.
Lidström killed the Finns. What a sad day for Finland. They would have deserved the title, however as JohnM said, today Sweden was slightly better. Just hope Saku will take this spirit back to the Habs. Let's go guys, GO HABS GO!!!!
Sorry guys from Finland, Power and others. They played their hearts out. Sweden was the better team on this day. Now lets get back to the HABS!
very interesting to watch how Finland ha dto play from behind..which they never had to do all season. They had to go from a 1-4 trap to a basic 3-2 and then a 4-1. A very different team. Although very strong as a TEAM defensively, they looked very ordinary behind their own blueline. Saks had a terrible break (literally) on the winning goal, breaking his stick on the opening draw and heading to the bench to grab another. This caused an odd man rush. Not a thing he could do about it except maybe forget about getting another stick and just taking a man. But that is a judgement call.
Although I have knocked Saku because I KNOW he can do better in a habs uniform, I loved what I saw of him in Italy. That is the Saks we love and know. That is the Saks I want as a habs fan. Bring er back with you Saks.

With you all the way there Barry33. Wonder why Saku didn't show up at the closing ceremonies with Becky Scott?
