I got into the Bell Center for the Feb 7th game and as soon as I got through the ticket gate, guess who's blockin' my way to the stairs?

Youppi. He's everywhere in there!

I'm not sure what he is really supposed to be.He's not a bear or a lion. What is he?

Didn't the Expos think it through first?

I don't know what he is, other than quiite large.

I remember the former AHL Halifax Citadels had this great big bird at their games; some sort of seagull, I think.  I used to hate it when he came in my section; his friggin' beak would block off half the ice!  Plus the man inside was obnoxious.

"Didn't the Expos think it through first?"

I don't the Expos thought anything through first. That's why they don't exist anymore.

BG digs Youppi. That's why he gave him a job after the collapse of the Expos.

Good Ol' Bob.

Touche!

The Big Owe was a terrible place for baseball.  Had they stayed at Jarry Park and modernized that place a bit, they'd have done better, I think.

I still miss Rusty Staub, Mack Jones and Coco LaBoy.  And John Bocabellllllllllllllaaaaa!

He's Gainey's secret weapon of success, that's what he is... I think he's meant to be a sturdy Quebec logging-type guy, hmmmm....

He was designed by Jim Henson of muppets fame and is a close second cousin of the Phillies Phanatic, also a Henson creation, seen here with his own embattled leader...

There was something cool about hearing those plastic seats echo when people hit their feet against them. But especially after that awful blue roof went in... yikes! what an awful atmosphere!

I remember like it was yesterday seeing how cool the stadium was going to be on the coins, and in all the magazines, then seeing it for real, unloved and unfinished. No cool sliding roof, no cool elevator. Lots of velo in half a drome...

just a little embarrasing!

Youppi....what a spaz.

Is it true that hunks of concrete fell from the Big Owe or is it bs? When I'm in Montreal, I WON'T take the tour of the stadium just because of that. There's just this thing I have about falling concrete on my melon.

That's nuts if it is true.

Sorry Nil but i thougth the Big O was awesome to watch a ball game. the atmosphere was amazing, even though there was only 10 , 000 most night.  Way better then the Skydome or Rogers center as it is now called.  The Expos were amazing  and I still follow them,,,  Go Washington Nationals Go

Expos fans, even if there weren't many of them, were solid fans, very knowledgeable. Totally different from the Blue Jay crowd. ()

I can't go for the Nationals though, makes me too sad.
