Wow, it won't be US against Canada in the finals...
no, it will be Sweden vs. Canada in the final. The Canadian girls beat the Finnish girls 6-0. 5 goals in PP. I watched one of those women games, and it was somehow fun, but a bit slow, so I almost fell asleep ....

I will go out on a limb and make a bold prediction: Canada will win the Gold in women's hockey!

It is still Canada and USA as the top two teams - Sweden got lucky a hot goalie (outshot by USA 38-18) and has a good goal scorer Roth ? - 2 goals in reg time and one in the shoot out. It is Sweden's Womens Hockey version Miracle on Ice do it twice or beat Canada then you have three top teams......Shut down the goal scorer (who Canada will key on in the gold medal game) and USA/Canada has the same number of shots or more and the margin in play - USA/Canada victory no question.....More proof is needed not one game IMO (Same as Sweden's mens team losing to Kazastan ? in Salt Lake not likely to happen twice)
Check the link for an article on the American performance this year generally.
Since most of us are Canadians we probably all get a little kick out of this. But I'm not posting it out of anti-American sentiment or anything....honest. I live in the States after all. One complaint about media coverage of the Olympics, generally (same in Canada)...I like to see a good competition, and some coverage of my own country, but I can't stand the over-the-top fixation on our athletes alone, their life stories, etc.... Many of the sports are fairly boring as it is, without all the sappy documentaries about such-and-such (in this case American) athlete. So I'm not watching much of it this year.
