I sure hope our Olympics boys don't come back too tired or injured! We have 6 road games coming up in a row! We all know our road record is dismal! Those games will be the telling tale of playoff or no playoff! Could you imagine if we earn only a few out of a possible 12 points?
This break couldn't come at a worse time! Just when our team was playing better under the solid goaltending of Huet!
I imagine Gainey will want to start experimenting with the thick haired man. That may change up our fragile chemistry enough to start a down hill spiral!
Please give us some good games on the road Mr. Propecia!
Besides injuries, where it's almost unpreventable, this is where coaching and experienced players come into play more than ever. Let's assume that the players taking part in the Olympics will be less "fresh" than the one's at home...
A couple of things that should happen:
• They well-tanned Habs will have to step it up a little or more than a little
• They Olympians will has to lose their pride and maybe skip a practice / take an extra day off..
• The coaches will have to use ALL 4 lines more regularily for a while
• Theo and Huet are going to have to steal a game or 2 by themselves.
Lastly, there's NO MORE BEING SATISFIED WITH 6 OR 8 OUT OF 12 POINTS. THEY HAVE TO REALIZE THAT THE PLAYOFFS HAVE ALREADY BEGUN...and NO PLAYER SHOULD HAVE EXCUSES BECAUSE THEY PUT THEMSELVES IN THIS SITUATION.

I wouldn't worry too much. Pretty much every NHL team has a handful of players at the Olympics. (I think Chicago is the only team with none.) The Habs' 5 or 6 is nothing too big; many (most) teams will have more "tired" players than that on their squad. As for specific players, Koivu, for example, has missed some 10 games due to injury this year. If he plays, say, 6 in the Olympics, he's still short of a full season.
So, AB, I share your concern to a point, but it doesn't keep me awake nights.

True, except the gold medal game is slated for the 26th. That's a long trip home to be ready to play on the 28th.

I walked past a restaurant yesterday that had a sign in the window that said, "Lobster Tail and Beer." I went in, since I enjoy all three.

Assuming it is Canada - Czech for gold, I don't think we even have any guys on these teams?
