Most Consistent Players
Permalink Closed

I'm sure i'll get more than a few disagreements on this one but i've listed those players whom i've deemed to be the most consistent for the Habbies this year: (min 20 games played; not necessarily in order)

1. Bulis
2. Higgins
3. Bouillon
4. Begin
5. Markov

as you can tell, the list is void of our nucleus-type players.

Koivu - much discussed/debated performer. Struggles with nagging injuries but otherwise, like his grit and heart. (insert rebuttal here...)

Kovalev - floats, dazzles, floats, dazzles, floats..... hard to argue this one no matter how entertaining he can be.

Theo - ~$400,000 per Win - 'nuff said.

Ryder - scores, bores, scores, bores, scores.... love Ryder, though he needs to develop a second dimension.
Granted, he is only a sophomore!

Ribeiro - leading scorer from last year. Can't think of another team's scoring leader who would attract essentially nothing on the trade market ?!? Can't/refuses to shoot, can't hit (156 lbs), pre-madonna attitude, no heart. Can't wait to see this guy leave.

Bonk - probably not on anyones pre-season 'Habs-core-players' lists, i simply love to rip this guy. He is a brilliant waste of talent... not to mention the $2.4 he's 'earning' this year...

Correct! I couldn't find the right way to describe Bonk. Waste of talent would be accurate. Not to mention waste of natural assets (ie. size).

I agree with your list! These guys works hard  as often as possible!

I believe Pleks can be added to that list. He's played in over 20 games and his playing time has increased lately. More or less at the same time Bulis got going.

Might as well start a row now.  I like your list, and inasmuch as I find Bulis the best Hab right now, he was not playing very well at the start of the year.  (Then he was playing well, but the results were not there.)

And - and here it comes - inasmuch (I like that word) as Koivu has not played well of late, it is his first real slump of the year, so I would say he was really consistent until these past few games.  So I would add him to your list.

But that's just me............

Exactly, before his slump, Saks would would without doubt be on that list...and so would Theo for being consistently mediocre/poor.

Hard to buck on the .75 points a game this year with Koivu to be honest...in spite of his slump lately..I am more concerned with his falling plus/minus

Bulis, Begin and Bouillon are so consistent with effort, you have to love them. But not necessarily in results. All three have spent parts of this season looking lost out there. Begin is the least guilty for me.

Plekanec has only just started to turn it up. And Higgins has had his ups and downs but I more or less agree with that choice.

What about Rivet? He's pretty consistent.

My choices, in order:

1) Markov
2) Rivet
3) Begin
4) Koivu (he would have been #1 for me, before the slump)
5) Bulis

Actually...the real number one is probably Sundstrom...he just always seems to be the same.

I'm not sure if i watched a game this year and seen Higgins have a bad game.  Its noticable when a team is in a game that players aren't performing, and Higgins seems to be like Bulis, Begin, who bring it every game.
