Same way a mentel patient is commited in a mentel hospital, he had no choice. Read his first response.

Wow!  There's a ringing endorsement.

I wonder what the Habs saw in him that everyone else didn't?

You know, I'll say this for Kovalev, you never get the feeling he's memorized his lines. It's never just media spin with him.

I'd like to be at the round table discussions to find out how the go about making these decisions. A player that all other teams think he's seen his better days and ready for retirement, but yet, the panel of clowns who called themselves hockey experts sign him for what 3-4 years. What's up with that, is he there for leadership more than anything else. Come on BG and the rest of ya, drop the booze and get with the program.

Kovalev was actively pursuide by more than 1 NHL team.  It was in the hockey news.  Pittsburgh was the front runner for the longest time.  I am not 100% sure who the other teams were, I will go through my old hockey news when I get home to see who it was.  I am sure that was more of a joke than anything.  Do you guys not remember what he said when he signed in Montreal?  He came back because the fans rose to thier feet every time he touches the puck.  I really think that is taken totally out of context.

Is it at all possible he was being humble and not realized how it would sound to a fans projection of our management

Probably was a joke. Kovalev always has this snide look on his face. Kind of deadpan. I bet defensemen who he dekes out hate him more than anyone. He has that cockiness.
