On the nhl.com site, there is an auction for the game-worn vintage jersey of one Mark Streit

Currently, someone is bidding a lot of dough for this sweater, though I can't imagine who would want to have it. Probably someone who never saw him play.
Is it perhaps being auctioned because Mr. Streit will no longer have need of it? I, for one, hope that this is the case. True, his minus-7 plus-minus is less than half of Rocket Ribeiro's minus-15, but Mr. Streit seemed to have a knack for scoring into the wrong net. I'd be willing to put a few bucks toward a plane ticket for him if it will keep him out of the Habs lineup.
Cote and Komi are clearly better players and with some of our young forwards represent the bright future for the team. I say auction off all of Streits jerseys and trade him to New Jersey for one of their cheerleaders.
He isn't all that bad, is he? And it is probably someone from his home country and, being as Streit is their national captain, it makes sense that someone there might want to buy it. Could be worth a bunch there.
How many national team captains are there on Montreal? Streit, Koivu and maybe Kovalev?
