Obviously the Koivu bashers never laced on skates and played competive hockey. You are entitled to your own opinions but you sound ignorant. Sorry for the blunt words but they're well-deserved. Some of you speak like he's not worth a puck. Just ridiculous.


2nd line center? I CAN AGREE BUT BASHING HIM? HIM OF ALL PLAYERS!

 Not this again! This has been beatened to death! Most agree including myself that Saks needs to play with less ice time and responsibilities to be effective while maintaining consistency to last the season!


 He has a good game then these posts come out of the wood works like he has never been praised in his life! One good game every once in a while is also why we criticize!


 Can we not just put this to past and let Gainey answer with his action or disaction on a new contract?

One good game? Right. You prove my point about posters not seeing the big picture. Sometimes a good game involves more than just point production. Koivu may have had 2-3 off games all year!


Limy may be right...have the anti-Koivuers ever laced em up? When I say ani-Koivuers I'm talkin about guys who admit his value, but seem turned off by praise. What the heck is wrong with praising good games and effort( which is pretty much ever game really). koivu can't help that he is that good game after game...

I'm not a blinded Koivu fan. I critique him just like any other player on the Habs. If he has off nights, I'm the first to point it out. Wow! It's been an emotional year. Ups and very low downs and it's way from being over. Koivu has been around during the Habs last 10 morbid years. He's a gamer. I like gamers. Never was meant to be a superstar but all the potential to be "Key" player.

Muller gets frustrated with the feud, but Muller understands we all have different opinions.


Muller also laughed out loud at And-o's helmet joke. Pretty clever.


Muller also figures that Koivu will likely sign elsewhere next year.


Muller will be sad but hopeful that the end result will be a improved hab team for the future.


Muller is NOT mocking And-o by posting in this manner...it's just addictive

This is so old. But I will wade in once again. I am not a Koivu basher but I am a realist. barry33 appreciates Koivu. barry33 appreciates all that Koivu has given the habs. But barry33 feels that Koivu needs a different role and can no longer carry the team as a number one center. barry33 does not see Koivu as only having "1 0r 2 bad games this year".  He has had many bad games. But then again so has the whole team. Bottom line is this. If Koivu feels he is a number one center and deserves number onje money he will go elsewhere. If Gainey can convince him to assume a lesser role with the team (ie second line, PP, PK) and take second line money, Gainey will sign him. But puhlease guys do not paint the guy like he is the next Pope. I can guarantee you that in contract negotiations Saks is looking after Saks (he has already indicated that he is interested in exploring free agency..and let us not forget it was HIS idea to sign a one year deal last year) Oh..and by the way..I have laced on the skates once or twice.

Clearly, the "1 or 2 bad games" is an understatement.  He has had maybe 7 or 8 bad games - still a much lower number than any other Hab.


Those are the facts, And-o.  Get over it.
