There are two ways to assess the weekend's results:
Glass half full: Two shutouts, Huet emerges as clear #1. Defense played great both days, and some of the forwards (Souray, Ryder) are shaking off rust. Great hustle, and winning the little battles. Markov is back to stabilize the defense, and all is right again.
Glass half empty: One goal against Boston, and average team at best, a game in which they were outplayed and should have lost, except Huet bailed them out. Both wins at home, which is what they are expected to do. And Philadelphia was decimated by injuries and iced an AHL lineup; even the veterans (Savage, Brashear, Stevenson) are journeyman has-beens.
So the big question: Is this (1) the turnaround that will propel them to a great finish to the season, or (2) just a "blip" that means nothing, and there are still many problems to address?
Your thoughts?

Who is an average team at best Boston??? You are so very wrong about them. I am proud of the 2-0 win. Boston was 7 1 1 thheir last 9, I would not say it was an average team the Habs played
It will be a battle until the end. No one is going to hand a playoff spot to the Habs. I think these wins will help the Hab's confidence more than they showed the Habs are decent. With confidence the Habs can compete with any team.

Nil d is not saying Boston is an average club, I'm saying it's one way that a person might look at it. They are right on .500 aren't they?
