If you noticed the Habs have been playing a good system in the first period. As soon as the momemtum changes (a goal is scored my the opposing team) THE PLAYERS AND NOT THE COACHES TOTALLY DISREGARD ANY "SYSTEM". You can impose the greatest system on earth...you take the greatest hockey technician but if THE PLAYERS have such a FRAGILE CONFIDENCE, WHAT GOOD IS A SYSTEM. I can't swallow that Habs fans are still blaming coaching (Julien wasn't good enough, Gainey/Carbo/Jarvis isn't good enough) Let's stop blaming the coaches and the systems and BLAME THE HEARTLESS PLAYERS.
The beginning of the season, we won games because for 3 periods the system was followed. Now it's followed for a period or until the team scores or gets momentum. They simply give up hope.

Last night, they played a great first ten minutes, and a great last ten minutes. The forty minutes in-between were plain awful! They need to learn to play with desperation for 60 minutes. How you motivate them to do that is anybody's guess. I know, Barry et al, it's a leadership question.........

I cannot disagree at all. Julien was one of the best coaches in the NHL. Gainey, Carbo, and Jarvis are not idiots either. This team has the attitude that they will only play when THEY feel like it. They are setting their own rules out there. Think about it. The GM WHO MAKES THE DECISIONS CANNOT GET THEM TO PLAY!!! What does that say about the players in that room? One word..POISON.
