I don't, it's a business! If I sucked like that at work, I would be fired!

Count me on the feel-sorry-for-Theo bandwagon.

He carried us on his shoulders at one time and now he's being Brisebois'd outta town.  I am not happy WITH Theo, but feel bad for him.

I think he's feeling just as let down as we all are and then some.  You don't get to be that competitive an athlete without being harder on yourself than any Montreal fan can be.  And that, my friends, is saying something.

Come on Theo - some of us are still wanting the old you back.  Please, please give me the honour of saying "I told you so" sometime soon?

I feel sorry for Theo the same way I feel sorry for Icarus. They're both guys who flew high, then crashed and burned. Only question is whether Theo can pull a phoenix act and rise from the ashes or not. I'll never forget the way he played in 2001-2. He single-handedly got us past the Bruins in the playoffs when we were down 3 games to 1 -- absolutely robbing Bill Guerin to steal a game one night -- and for that I will always be in his debt. It also gave me a lot of pleasure to see him win the Hart and Vezina Trophies. He deserved them both.

It's never easy to watch an athlete struggle, whether it's a pitcher who's lost the steam on his fastball, a golfer who suddenly can't find a fairway with a handheld GPS, or a goalie who's fighting the puck and struggling to get his confidence back.

I don't know what Theo's like as a person on the ice or off, so I have no reason beyond his on-ice performance to like him or dislike him. It's not his fault he's a pretty boy, and if Ford and others want to pay him a lot to be in their TV spots, more power to him. If I were him, I would cherchez les femmes (et les dollars), too.

I'd like nothing more than to see him return to form. But until he shows signs of doing so -- both in practice and in games -- I also can't fault BG from not starting him. The team can't afford any more soft goals or giveaway losses. It's crunch time. If Jose wants to earn the adoration of the fans again, he's going to have to earn it.

I've never seen "Brisebois" used as a verb before!

I'm sort of like you, Habgirl.  Let me put it this way: If Theodore honestly feels badly that he's letting his team down, really wants to turn it around, and is willing to make sacrifices (work harder, extra training, etc.) to get back to his old form, then I feel bad for him.  If he doesn't care about any of this, then I, like AB, would want him fired for incompetence.

As for Icarus, was he paid $5 million per?

I think nil put it well...

besides how am I supposed to feel sorry for someone with 20 million in the bank by the time he's 30?

Oh, I think Icarus got 3 per when he was with the wings...

No way.  It's one thing to play bad.  It's another to be absolutely brutal night in and night out.  He hasn't even come out and said that he is playing terrible.  I can't believe how many chances they keep throwing him after he stinks the joint out?  Let him sit for a while and get his head back in the game.  I've seen these symptoms before - JimCareyitis.

I'm with you, Nil.  That guys has definitely had some tough luck, alot self-inflicted, but he looks terrible after being pulled, so I think he is really beating himself up.  But as I told some students today, you can't make excuses and you can't lie to yourself.  You just have to show some bravery and start from scratch and face the problem.

Theo has had a very bad year but it seems he is not the only one.  Raycroft, rookie of the year in 2004, has had a very tough time as well.  Thomas is now Boston's #1 goalie.
