....................................I'm the most tired about... the Gainey bashing.
No really, shut up already. We're not talking about Rejean Houle here, it's Bob f*****g Gainey here. He's one of the most respected and talented GM in the league.
Don't you think that he would have traded half the team already if he could have got better players??!!! Of course he would have. The problem is nobody wants what we don't want. Yes we need a goaltender to win, yes we need one or two good centerman , some wingers and defence too, but they don't grow on trees so we have to do with what we have for now. He's more than aware of the problem and i'm sure is trying hard to fix it, it's those other damn GM's that are not cooperating and giving us what we want for peanuts.
Give the guy a break, he's working very hard i'm sure to find a solution. Frankly i think he's one of the best at it and will do great. A trade or two are coming , weather it's for this year or the next is the only question.
PS: i don't post much but read everyday... and would like to find out how many people from BC (i'm in victoria)

Hey Brew!
I too am in Victoria! Small world...
Normie, West Coast Habs Fan, Mrs. Hab are in Vancouver (just off of the top of my head - I know there are more on the mainland). Normie and I had a chance to meet briefly in Vancouver at the Habs game a couple of Saturdays ago.
I respect Gainey, too, but looking at what he's done in MTL doesn't give me a lot of confidence I'm afraid. We could use Ron Hainsey now. We could use Jason Ward now. And we could certainly use Mathieu Garon. I'm hopeful that the young guys he's bringing along will grow to be good players for the team. But the fact that he doesn't have quality players to trade right now may have something to do with the fact that he's let some good players slip away. I'm willing to give him time, both as coach and as GM, but I'd like to see the results of his work begin to live up to the reputation he has.
