Hey JohnM...

Assume that Carolina had offered the "Weight Package" to Montreal for Koivu ~ would JohnM bite or no???  Explain!!!

For the record, And-o would take the Carolina offer while laughing, especially given the available UFA's coming-up this off-season!  Plus, St.Louis added some grit.

...anyway, good debate!!!

Nope, Weight is 35 and is not an upgrade. He has already said he wants to go back to St. Louis after this year is over. I never liked Weight after he sold out on Edmonton, but that's my opinion. If we are to get rid of Saku (hypothetically speaking), we need to improve the position, should be a young player like a Richards or Carter or a top draft pick so we can try to go after a pick like Staal in Carolina.

Koivu for Weight would be not give any benefit to the Habs in my opinion.

Oh, sorry..... Hmmm. Basically it's the 30th pick in the upcoming draft and some nobodys, so nope. Better to sign and trade Saku then....

Jokinen was just offered 4 years @ 16 million.

Weight has been a HUGE bust for St. Louis. Because we don't hear much about St. Louis we don't get to hear about how disappointed the fans were with him. He was supposed to take them to the next level, but he went on a slide. Biggest difference? He went soft.
