the Lightning and have attempted to get Jose Theodore and more for
Brad Richards.....talks are going on and we will discuss more as the
night progressing....The Rumor is that certain key Lightning players

I think tonight's game has probably scuttled this deal already.

Is scuttled the right word???? I send him to hamilton , bring up Danis and if Theo clears waivers someday ,  fine  I am so tired of people on this board (me included) praising Theo when he plays a solid one, just to be disgusted his next outing. He has no confidence. We will lost the 2 to Boston and Buffalo. When that happens Gilette should look for some new blood in the GMs office and behind the bench. Boy If he were to clean house that would send a message to this team. Bring back Demers , bring back Bowman , Bring back anyone

I don't think Theo's "performance" against Carolina will hinder anything.  It was already apparent that he was having and "off" year.  The NHL knows that.  That's why all teams have wanted Theo-plus for their star in return.  But Theo will do much better out of Montreal, mark my words.  I think it has finally gotten to the point where be a star has really overcome his ability to be a player in Montreal.  I like the kid but he won't flourish in Montreal.  Bring on Richards.  Or St. Louis.  Or Levacalier.  Or....

At this point, I'll settle for pucks if it means no Theo.   And please throw Ribs in there too!

This make zero sense! No way do Tampa trade Richards to unload his contract then proceed to take on Theo's big contract!

Maybe we'll be stuck trading for Richards and Kubina.  Heck, if we are losing Bonk and maybe even Koivu, we got the room and we'll need all we can get to get a contender.

Who says Tampa or whoever will take Theo's contract?   I'm sure the Habs will pick up 50% of Theo's remaining salary if he's traded.

T bay is trying to unload Richards to free up cap room, not to take on another monster contract.  Mperra is right, if it does happen, we will be paying for him for the next 3 years.

My only fear is that Theo leaves Montreal and returns to Vezina form. It looks out of the question now, but what if it happens? We'd all be harping on and on about how this was the equivalent to the Roy trade.

(I'm not comparing Roy to Theo. It's a hypothetical situation. Play along.)

I just think Theo deserves more patience since he does indeed have a Hart and Vezina trophy in his resume.

Regardless, if the trade were right for the Habs, I'd pull the trigger. Richards would be a good fit but I don't see Tampa trading Richards for Theo heads up. We'd probably need to give a little more...

Why in the HELL would TB trade Richards for the seive????

Graham and Burke have been just fine. Tort likes goalie by committee down there...it won him a cup.

Now, if you could pry Luongo out of Keenan's idiot show in S. Florida, you might be on to something.

Not sure what the concensus is, but if we can't negotiate a deal soon, I would gladly throw Theo on waivers and see if you can dump his salary.  I don't think we are going to get too much at this point anyhow and if we could, I would take it.  The whole "Showcase Theo" experiment has blown up in BG's face.
