Read off a rumour site,That  the Montreal Canadiens are   interested in both Richards and Kubina.

Woudn't this be a great addition to the habs, We could definitely use a player like Richards.

It was great to beat the leafs, but this team still needs some major change. Can someone explain how waviers work. If a player clears waviers I know that if he gets pick on on re-entry your on the hook for half the salary, does that apply for the current year ,thus allowing a team to call him back up the following year.

If Gainey could pull that off, he'd be a magician! Who would Tampa want? We have no one even close to that talent to trade to them!

Tampa is in serious cap trouble, and if they are out of the playoffs, they will be looking for prospects and picks I would assume.

Tampa is in the hunt for a goalie, they might not want Theo for cap reasons, so they would probably want to a package of something like Huet or Dennis-Riberio, Souray, Bulis.

Man, the Habs are involved in a lot of rumours aren't they?  If that was legit, I would trade any number of guys for Kuby and Richards.

I couldn't see Richards moving, though...the guy is their best forward and just won the Conn Smythe. I would figure they would rather move St. Louis?

My feeling is that they would rather trade St Louis. And, ya, it is cap driven, so they wont want Theo. But the way Huet and Danis played this year, they could be decent returns along with draft picks and a cheap couple dudes. We can't force them to take out our trash, though. What about Zed, Danis and picks.

Oh, but I think we'd need Kubina more. Hodling down the fort might give our low scoring front a boost.

I can't see any type of blockbuster deals being done between two teams in the same conference.  That would be the proverbial trade coming back to bite a gm in the @$$. IMHO

That's why those west coast deals seemed plausible to me (ie-Vancouver or Colorado).
