Philly should just mop the floor with the Habs this time...but if the Canadiens could ever get skating...and get some reasonable goaltending...this good be a great game!
...and just have a look at Philly for team stacked up the middle!!!
How did Theo make it on the "Hot" list of your chart with a 14.something goals against average. Yet Nittymaki is on the "Not" list with a 3.44. Somethings not right.

Obviously he was meant for the lower chart (the "Not" gang).

So, the Habs aren't tough enough. Bring in Downey. Bring up Ivanans. Get some muscle in there, throw a few punches, break a leg. No doubt a little additional size could benefit the team - but at what cost? The new NHL was supposed to give our fast little forwards the room to razzle-dazzle. We weren't supposed to need Broad-Street Bullies in order to beat the Broad Street Bullies. But when nothing else is working, I guess you try anything.
Clearly, what the Habs need are not more tough guys, but to have the guys we have play tougher, skate harder, fight to win. That heart just isn't there -- and you can see it in the play of Ribs, Kovy, Zeds and even Ryder. Unless the puck junps on to their stick and they are given a realistic scoring chance on a silver platter, these guys are coasting and we all know it. Yes, Ryder has 20 goals. He should have 30 -- and 20 assists.
Until the guys we have get serious about putting in an effort, and until BG gets tough with them about doing so, all the bruisers in the world aren't going to help this team.
I'm just hopng we can make it look like a hockey game tonight for a change...

I've mentioned before that Ryder would have 35 goals playing with Savard! I stand by that!
PHILADELPHIA - The Canadiens start the second half of their road trip tonight in Philadelphia with a showdown against Peter Forsberg and the Flyers. After suffering their third straight loss on Monday in Carolina, the Canadiens will look to get back on track with a little help from Tomas Plekanec, who was a factor in all three Montreal goals against the Hurricanes in his return to the lineup.
The Flyers were also in action Monday as Forsberg returned from a groin injury to score the game-winner, leading Philadelphia to a 4-2 victory over the Penguins. The win was Philly’s first on home-ice since Dec. 22, as Ken Hitchcock’s crew snapped a three-game skid at the Wachovia Center. Despite that rough patch, the Flyers remain atop the Atlantic Division ahead of the New York Rangers.
Tonight marks the second meeting of the season between these Eastern Conference rivals. Mike Ribeiro stole the show back on Oct. 25 by scoring a pair of goals, including the overtime winner, in a 3-2 victory over the Flyers at the Bell Centre.
Better late than never: Despite arriving only an hour before game-time after being called up from the Hamilton Bulldogs early Monday afternoon, rookie Tomas Plekanec enjoyed the biggest night of his young NHL career with two goals and an assist against the Hurricanes. Plekanec, notching his fifth and sixth goals of the season, did not have same effect as the Canadiens’ eight previous multi-point games so far in 2005-06. Montreal had picked up at least a point in every other two-goal night with a 6-0-2 mark in those games.
Begin’s Greatest Hits: Steve Begin is well on his way to the most productive season of his seven-year NHL career. By helping set up Plekanec’s first goal Monday, Begin picked up his seventh assist and 16th point of the season, eclipsing his previous career high of five assists and 15 points put up by Begin in 2003-04. The 27-year-old also racked up three hits to remain among the NHL’s Top 10 with 117.
It takes two: Peter Forsberg’s arrival in the City of Brotherly Love has been just what the doctor ordered for linemate Simon Gagne who, with 33 goals in 43 games, has already matched his career-high set back in 2001-02. The Flyers are 23-7-5 with both Gagne and Forsberg in the lineup this season. They also have a positive effect on one another with Gagne scoring 53 of his 58 points this season with Forsberg by his side and Forsberg piling up 54 of his 61 with his new sidekick.

Steve Begin's assist Monday night was his seventh helper and 16th point of the season, setting new career highs in both categories.
Just a quick comment on the Habs' team toughness. Philly's leader in penalty minute - Brashear with 57. Montreal's team leader - #22 in your programs, but #1 in our hearts, Steve Begin with 93.

I walked past a restaurant yesterday that had a sign in the window that said, "Lobster Tail and Beer." I went in, since I enjoy all three.
I can't wait for this one! If Huet is in, look for the team to play with confidence and get their offense turned on with good skating! Look for a couple good scraps! A spirited game from Habs!
Will Habs win? All I can say is that he'll be a close game!
johnny G is it true Bulis is on the pines? Why, the guy is the only one skating day in day out! I love his hustle and wish he better hands. I'm not very optimistic about this one and see another bad night. Things aren't going in the right direction for us and nothing has been done so far to fix the problem. What the problem is, where do i start and where does the coaching staff start. Anyways I'll be watching the game like always do with my Jersey on, hopefully cheering more than chucking the remote at the T.V.

Rumour is that Bulis is on the block -- that's why he's on the bench!
I really like the way the boys are hitting out there....and when we get all of out D boys healthy, i think we should replace Streit for Cote...Cote is a big pressence and loves to hit...,.,,this guy was the captain for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles (my hometown) in the QMJHL....he's a leader, and it just makes sense to have a big hitter in the lineup then a guy with a hard shot who lets face it, doesn't score....(streit)

Huet is looking very shaky so far in my book. That second goal was very stoppable.

Bulis! Bulis! Bulis! Nice work Bulis... Hat trick...
3-3 after 2. The boys are hanging in there!
I'll tell you this: the future of the Habs is: Higgins and Plekanec. Those two kids are impressing me. Higgins is pure hustle, and Plekanec is an offensive threat who can fly.
I find the reffing suspect tonight. They're calling every little thing, but I'll bet they will let everything go in the third. That 4-minute on Streit was bogus. The guy ran into his stick.

Huet has made a number of good saves. We have to be thankful Theo is not in net tonight. The trade rumours involving Bulis should be put to rest as he has the 3 goals. Habs continue to take too many penalties but I think the refs missed a couple against Philly. Our team is playing much better and they seem to be getting better as the game progresses and Huet continues to make the saves. He had no chance on that 3rd goal-off Habs D.
