Marc Crawford is likely going to have his guys play a real physical game on the Canadiens! ...and here is hoping that the great fan support from Western Canadian Hab fans motivates these guys to play with some pride tonight!
Why Gainey does not have an enforcer or physical presence in th elineup, I have NO Idea. The other night Souray (could have just as easily been Rivet, take your pick) had to (yes HAD TO) fight that idiot McCarty. Otherwise he would have spent the whole night running through Koivu, Kovalev and Higgins. Now we go to Vancouver who have 2 or 3 "McCarty's" and what do we have to answer with? Go get em Bulis!!

I dont know that it is effective to give up a roster spot to a guy who'll play 3-4 minutes. I think that if we hit and run like the last game against the Sens, that's the ticket.
(Souray should have let Rivet fight, though I believe that Rivet tried but McC wouldn't have him...)

I guess we will have to agree to disagree Figs lol. I am not suggesting we have a guy who only plays 3-4 minutes. But we need a guy on the 4th line like McGratton who can play on that line, not look out of place, yet drop them when need be. What bothers me about the Souray fight is that should have inspired that team in spite of being down another dman. Yet the team went the opposite way. There is no closeness in this dressing room and it was VERY VERY evident then.

I think you are right And-o - the Canucks will play mean against the Habs. I'd bring up Ivanis because even if in his 2 shifts he prevents Souray or Rivet from having to take a major by fighting some 4th line Canuck - he'll pay off.
The only fight I've ever seen Ivanis in was against Chara and he was great... until Chara's last punch.

Yes Clegs !! I agree 100%. Supposing the guy never gets off the bench his presence in the lineup makes more room for guys like Koivu. I do not see Bob Gaineys thinking on this. We have enough guys like Murray and Begin but not enough guys who can protect our skilled players.
