It was an overall disaster!!!

So i've been readin up on what everyone thought on lastnights game, ane here's what i seen, and i was also at the game lastnight.

>Souray, good fight, but we should have a forward to stick up for us like that, not using a guy who was probably going to get 20-24 minutes of playing time lastnight due to Markov out...as soon as i noticed Souray wasn't on the bench at the start of the 2nd period i knew right there we were gonna hurt.

>However, that doesn't explain 12 shots with about 5 minutes to play.  And i say 6 of those 12 shots were just a shootin to get a whistle or because nobody jumped up in the play.  They had no hustle after the Souray fight, that really should of pumped them up, Calgary's grinder and scrapper cut open and bleeding, i don't know but that would pump me up.

>Theodore came up with some big saves, can't blame him on the powerplay goals, Iggy should of never scored on that first goal, but Theo has to work on his glove side. Thats a must.

>And last but not least, the biggest thing that got my attention, the habs powerplay.  What the @#$% is that all  about. There was no traffic in front of Kipper after the first goal.  You can't score on the pp on him with no traffic in front, he stops what he sees..... For a second i thought we were killing a powerplay, not on one....Bonk, Zednik?  Why would you put a guy with 1 goal all year on the powerplay, especially when he's out on every penaltykill...and Zeddy hasn't scored since i don't know when....We should have 2 set powerplay lines, but it seems every game is different.  Ryder, Ribs, Kovy, Koivu, Bulis, and what i would love to see, is big Komo in front of the net, and have Souray and Kovy on the blue line, with Ryder and Ribs or Koivu on the sides, but keeping komo in front, the guy is huge, but noooo....lets put bonk there, a 6'3 stick....i don't know boys, but i'm getting pretty annoyed by this play....

So in other words, the problems we had before the change are still there. I still say that the coaching change had to be made and what I saw last night drills it home even more. Gainey needs to be there behind the bench to appreciate the issues with some of these guys. This, hopefully, will give him a sense of urgency to make the changes needed.

Thanks for the up close game view post. Will be nice to see how they react after a loss now that BG is in charge. I was reading on another board that they practiced today in Vancouver and had a high tempo practice. Souray, Koivu, Bouillon were in good spirits but Kovy was in a bad mood (hope that means a good next game)...

Hey, caper, don't go dissing Lord Bonk!  We're only supposed to be bashing Koivu on this hallowed site.  Saku only has a point a game so far this year, he's only the team's top scorer despite missing 10 games, and the b--tard only had a goal and an assist among the two whole goals scored in last night's game, so he deserves to be defrocked, whipped, shot, then traded to Toronto.

But Master Bonk, nooooooooooooooo, he's had three good games this year, so please, put him on the first line, give him more ice time, let him go on the first power play unit, sign him to a long-term contract, make him captain, give him a raise, give him a bigger house, elect him to the Hall of Fame .....................

Yeah; that was one of my good ones (I knew you'd like it!).  I should have saved it up for #1,000!

(Now three to go; it seems like just yesterday I was shooting for 500..........)

Yes, I saw that.  Thanks , John; I enjoy your posts too.  We're about the only two pro-Saku posters around here.  I simply can't figure that one out myself...............

(So that was 999.  I'll have to do some thinking before #1,000................)
