Last Night.

That was a total lack of team effort last night.  18 shots isn't going to cut it and at times they just look disinterested.  They had 1/2 the game to come back last night and did NOTHING.  Calgary likes to put the seatbelt on the game and the Habs let them slow it down to a crawl.  I was there and the game was BORING. The last 2 minuites of the game was comedy as they couldn't even get the puck out of their zone without hitting a skate or bumping into eachother.  I wasn't impressed by the squad last night and with the exception of Theo (3 good games in a row, Theo!), I didn't think anyone stood out.  Kovu may have had a couple of points, but he was mostly invisible for a lot of the game.  Kovalev just looked like he wanted to be elsewhere.   Zednik was basically thrown around by their d-men. Props to Souray for the fight, but they were totally lost on the blueline without Markov and Souray.

Something has got to give here; either they decide they want to be a winning club and make the play-offs or continue on this stretch of lackluster efforts.  It's not that they are a bad club, it's just it looks like they don't want to be a good team.

Take a page from the Flames and start putting in some effort out there.

i cant believe all the negativity from the game lat night . from down right horrible to not to bad , had bad breaks . well we were somewhere in the middle . we were without our 2 best-better d-men for most of the game , for a team of softies we held our own in the checking department , boulion nailed a few , komo had a couple and the rest was a wash. tell me something naysayers , its 0-0 after 5 mins, calgary is without there 2 best dmen, we have all our players , i dont know about you guys but i like our chances .

It's frustrating to watch a team that can win if they just give a little more. You can't tell me that they gave it a good effort last night, cause they didn't.  The game was brutal to watch.  They had 6 shots on goal at the half-way mark.  I'm not angry they lost, just totally dissapointed in the effort last night.  I have been anticipating this one all season and it was pretty much a let down. It was there for the taking and they couldn't respond as a team.

You can make excuses that they didn't have their Souray and Markov, but they may be without both of them for the game against Vancouver, too depending on what happens to Souray.  Do you like Vancouver's chances?  Play harder and you'll get results.

yes im disappointed in the effort also but i feel if we hadn't lost sourey for the game we would have won , i believe someone posted here or another board we were outshooting them til the 5 min. penelty and the subsequent full 2 min. 5-3 . they had 9 shots on those pp's . but we did lose sourey and had to give his minutes to a not confident komo and a very undersized striet . he has wheels but is useless in his own zone . calgary knew this and picked up the forecheck and montreal where on there heels for the rest of the game.

Good points.  That 5 minute penalty plus the minor was the dagger for sure.  Souray was just starting to put the peices together too.  That definitely had an impact on the game, but not sure if there was enough effort to win.
