Well...he only has 10 - so which ones are you referring to??? LOL! Seriously though...the "top line" had better PICK-IT-UP or this roadtrip marks the beginning of the end of our playoff hopes! ...NO WAY can a line of Zed-Bonk-Bulis carry the load alone like they did last night!
Huh?
Far as I could tell it was the first line that carried it last night.
As far as I could tell nobody carried anything last night. Zednik, Koivu -- invisible. Kovalev -- nets one slapper but isn't seen or heard from otherwise. Bonk -- had the puck on his stick 1000 times because of all the ice time BG is giving him, but other than one nifty move that lead to a scoring chance in the third, nothing to show. Ryder -- little hustle and few shots on net. Ribeiro -- looked like a boy among men. Bulis -- did he play? Begin -- the Habs' hardest worker as usual, but no scoring opportunities. Higgins -- made a great diving move at the blue line to knock a puck out of our zone on a penalty kill showing his heart is in the right place, but nothing to show on the score sheet.
The team was flat, and due to constantly penalty-killing and inept passing, was kept bottled up all night by the faster-skating, harder-working Flames. Where were the young guys last night? No Perez, No Kostitsyn. What are we saving them for -- when our vets come back hurt after the Olympics? They couldn't have played any worse than our other lines did, and maybe a little youthful enthusiasm is needed right now.
The team had to know that they'd need to get many, many shots against Kiprusoff to have any chance of winning. They sure didn't work hard to get them.
I am just so curious as to know why everyone wants to talk bad about Kovalev all the time. Is he not the only really superstar on this team? I watched the last 2 periods at the bar last night, and AK looked damn good to me. I think everyone who likes to slam this guy should look at our record with him out of the line up. Gonna slam anyone, make it that bag of pucks we have in the net.
FlowerPower, I noticed the exact same thing, and it worries me. Beforehand Kovalev would clutch his arms in, and shake his hands in joy while yelling. The last 2 goals, not a single reaction.....I wonder what was said...
