............no trades , Ribiero and Theo are still here , I haven't seen Bonk and Ribiero skate like that in awhile ..Ribiero even hit someone last nite ..Higgins was like Ten Brooks last nite ..justa flyin ...
the TSN folks said last nite that BG puts a little fear into les boyz ....IceWater Bob reminds me of Messier a bit ...same intensity ..smarter though , I think
things I noticed ...they're moving the puck quicker , thereby better utilizing their speed , line-changes were much better ......not to pick the scab, one thing that bothered me ..after the second goal ..the congratulatory circle seemed to give cold shoulders to Souray , likewise after the game when leaving the ice ....mayhaps some were glad to see Julien depart and Souray comments were not shared by all
how long will the euphoria last ??? I don't know , in any event as a board collectively we were in panic mode ..quess that's why were arm-chair GMs and coaches

I suspect you are right. Heaven forbid Souray actually acted like a MAN and took some of the heat. Unlike the so called "leaders" on our team who ran away and hid. It still disgusts me and it will for some time. I have lost a ton of respect for some Habs players that I used to think highly of.

..............I hear ya ...I'm not sure why , but I liked ole CJ , but somehow he lost these guys ....no matter what others say ..I think that right now this is not a team but a group od cliques ..I's say three ( Ribiero,Theo et al ..le connection francais )) ( Souray, Rivet &co the vets) ...the rest. if BG can meld them into a team ..more power to him

Well put FF. Gainey had to go in there and clean up the mess. Julien tried and could not. But having the big guy there has caught their attention. This is a move that had to be made and it has little to do with coaching ability and alot to do with attitude adjustments. When you see guys skating and sweating the last 2 games that did not break a sweat all year it makes me smile

This team overachieved to start the season, but many of the same elements can still contribute to a decent playoff run. there is plenty of top-end skill. However, this is a soft team both physically and mentally, and every guy on the bench has to be focused and on his game every night to make up for a lack of size and grit. When guys are playing selflessly and working hard, the team can succeed...also, having a healthy lineup for the first time in 2 months helps a lot. The depth really drops off after 2 lines.
These guys have to play scared and bigger than they are to have any kind of success. They can't do it for 82 games, but I hope they can uncork some bottles of their early season effort to tide them over until, say, may.

Buffalo is managing some serious success with what most people would consider to be a small and soft team. Its players show up every single night. Habs have to do the same. Even if they weren't small and soft, they would have to show up every single night. Go Habs.
