Well I think I have beaten the CJ firing near to death. In hindsite, there is no question that Gainey could have handled it better and Claude deserved better. However the fact is that he did not get the respect he deserved and that is life. We have all been there right Nilsey? There is no question a change or changes had to be made and I am glad they did.  It i stime to move on and look at the future. As much as I would question Gainey's business ethics, I respect his knowledge as a hockey man and as a habs fan I know we are now in good hands. I will reserve judgement on Carbo as a coach. My initital thought was that he lacks experience. But I respect what he did for the organization as a player and I know that Gainey is a good judge of talent so let's give him a chance.

I am sure that Gainey tried to make trades but was unsuccessful. So before we slipped any further down the standings, and on the eve of a very tough road trip, the bleeding needed to be stopped now! Having Gainey in the dressingroom will give him a full insight as to who the problems are (unless all of a sudden these players are like a class full of kids when the teacher leaves the room and are all of a sudden angels when he comes back in). There is no doubt in my mind that this team has players who need an attitude adjustment and need to be reminded of what it is to wear the fabled CH. Bob will get 'er done. This is a good move that needed to be done. Yes it is a shame that a bunch of players quit on a coach but that is teh reality we have in pro sports today. The spoiled athletes dicate who they will and will not , play for. But I can tell you that with Gainey there will be no dictating.

We are in good hands now and I have complete faith in Gainey, Jarvis, and Carbo. They day of reckoning has come for some of these guys and as a habs fan, that is a good thing Martha. So lets keep her on a roll Bob and get 'er done as we say here in NB. GO HABS GO!!

Barry,  If anything the dead weight will soon be shed. I hope they streemline this team to a mean mean fighting machine. The PP was working the opther night. We were winning in the corners and at the blueline. I hope it continues. Turco is a tough goalie. Go habs Go

Any word on what/who might be possibly/alledgedly/potentially involved from Chicago?  I read on TSN they don't want to part with their young guns (Arnason, Bell, Calder)?

The word the other day was the Caps were looking at Ribsy?  He's apparently in demand these days due to his monster 2 point night!!!!!!

Isn't Lapointe still into that massive 5-mil a year deal?   I'm sure the Montreal media and fans would love to have another Fancophone as well.

Ribs at least has some upside...maybe.

Regardint tonights game:   PP at it again, we seemed to do good in the corners. All I realy saw was 3rd periode and we were outshot badly. Either we were tired or we sat on the lead

We fell back into our 'old ways'.  I guess it is too much to expect them to change completely in just two games.  This is something that BG et al will have to work on especially since they are on the road for the next 2 wks playing top teams.  Overall the Habs look much improved from the past month or so(excluding the 3rd.).  Ribs is playing better and not staying on the ice as long.  He took a check on the first goal which is a pleasant change.

Does anyone have the latest on Markov's injury and the status of Zednik?

Sportsnet is reporting that Chicago is looking to deal Adrian Aucoin and Jason Cullimore.  Apparently they are finding it tough as their salaries are hard to deal.  Aucoin is $4 million a year until 2009 and Cullimore is $1.88 this year with raises each year until 2008.  (Rumours, all rumours)
