Does anyone (barry?) have a good answer as to why Carbonneau has been named coach for next year, when we still have 40 games left in this one? Why not put him in now? If it's to give him experience, to ease him in slowly, then how can they make the decision today that he'll be coach next year when they haven't seen how good he's going to be? It makes no sense to me.

According to the chat after the Leafs game, it was because Carbonneau doesn't know much about the eastern conference coming from Dallas as well as another reason I can't remember (too many Ceasars) . . . it was suggested that they (BG/GC) would prefer to have Carbonneau slowly get fully accustomed first.
Team 990 said, he wanted to get to know the players the remainder of the season before taking over. That makes no sense because any coach comong in has to get to know the players
