Well now that the coaching issue is resovled for now, I think we can all take a look at the on ice talent we are left with and evaluate. Do we really. regardless of who is coaching, have the talent to be a playoff team this year? And if so, how far will we get? I think that realistically, if Gainey can get something resembling an effort out of what is left, we may grab 8th spot. Which, if I am not mistaken, will put us against Ottawa in the first round where we say good night Irene. (Yes we have had a bit of success against Ottawa but in a best of 7? Uhmm....no)
We are horrible and pathetic at Center Ice. In fact, I hold my breath every time I see Saks go down because he is all we have. You simply cannot play and compete in this league with one center (Bonk, Begin? Uhmmm sorry..Begin is now showing why he was on waivers and unclaimed. He got by with fire and passion at first but that is no wgone for the most part). Pleks will be back but he is young and is not a 2nd line center). We have no one in the top 50 in league scoring, thus no legitimate scoring threat. How hard is it for the opposition to shut down our "offence". We need better defense and a goalie. I amhoping for 8th spot but we have alot of work to do.

Barry, We got what We got for talent and you know that will not change. Mistakes were made in the past by BG with trades and scouting. I think we can write this season off as a rebuilding season. If you can call it that. We seem to take three steps forward and 10 steps back. This team will go down this year as one of the lousiest seasons in Habs history I am sorry that is my opinion
