How does Colorado have a leading rookie on their team

Colorado, year after year finishes high in the standings,   Which means, they draft low year after year.  So how do they land Marek Svatos, a leading rookie this season?


I tell you how.   Good scouting!!!  Svatos was drafted back in Year 2001, Round: 7, Pick: 227 overall!!!

I understand that, but we have to look at our own guys...Ryder, who thought he would come up to the big league and prove he can play at this level, he was drafted super late also.  It's just one of those things, your 1st rounder sits in hamilton and your 6th rounder is on the 2nd line with the big boys.  I don't know anymore.
