wow........ what a statement... the crowd really went out of their way to vocalize their displeasure with theo. i'm glad.
True enough. But, what I truly hope, way down in the deepest, blackest, coldest part of my heart (even though my wife says I don't have one), is that Theodore will use this game as either a wake-up call or a learning experience. I hope he heard the love that the fans were throwing at Huet and remembers what it was like when they loved him like that. And most of all, I hope he can shake himself out of the funk his is in.
Huet won todays game for the Habs. I think I can still remember when Theodore did that.

Not to take anything away from Huet, because he played great today. But Theo needs to wake up. If the Habs are gonna make the playoffs Theo has to be the number 1 guy and has to be better than he has been. If Huet is the better of the two in the second half, we won't get in.

I would not equate cheers for Huet as being jeers for Theodore (not to say he doesn't deserve jeering). How else were the fans supposed to exhibit their satisfaction with Huet's play?

well that's not to say the weren't happy with huet's play.... but clearly, the hidden intention behind going so far as to chant his name and shower him with approval is to jeer theodore, at least somewhat
I did not see the game (the only highlites I saw was before the Leafs/Oilers game where CBC showed only Saku's nice backhand goal but felt they had to show all of the Rangers goals against Florida - Thanks CBC I thought it was HDIC with the emphasis on the six Canadian NHL teams) but with an afternoon game it is quite possible that the Bell Center had a younger crowd and with it more enthusiam and less apt to sit on their hands and more likely to cheer on who ever was having a good game as compared to a night crowd with a more corporate/business demeanor.....Just a thought.

hah, I looked into it. the answer is April 15th 2004. Habs beat the Bruins 5 -1 with Theo making 43 saves to force game 6 Good one, and a fond memory, now what about regular season?
December 19th 2002 3-1 victory vs NY Rangers, made 41 saves.
There were a couple times where he made 37 out of 38 saves, but if you're looking for 40 or more saves this would be the last time. you can check his stats out yourself here.
