So here's how it is with this guy, he was one of the teams best players before the lockout, and he's only making 1.17 mil i believe, so its not like were paying him 3 or 4 mil a season and playing like this, he's somewhat cheap, and he still makes the pass, he's just not putting the puck in the net.  I'm a big Rib fan, i've seen him many times through his jr career with the Ramparts, but i'm not giving up on him yet, i'm sorry guys, but i think he will come around.  Besides Ryder, who else if finding the back of the net alot these days, besides theo to get the puck out of his.  Hang on guys, he'll come around.

I like your optimism, but really, Ribs sucks. Even if he does occasionally put points on the board, the team gives up many more when he's on the ice. The guy's soft, gives away the puck in the D and neutral zones, and thinks that all forms of checking relate only to banking.

We need more Rib fans to help keep posts more objective! Good post!

Oh my Caper. first off, welcome to the board. I liked your player by player analysis.

But, without knowing a thing about you, my guess is you are under 20? Of course I could be wrong and it's not that youth is a bad thing at all( see Johab), but I have to figure anyone who digs Ribs is kinda prone to marketing and "flair" a la Ribero( in a backstreet boys/Britiny Spears kinda way).

Sorry Caper, Ribero is a fluff ball. Pretty passes or not, he is a fluff ball who will NEVER win a Stanley cup.

And AB...You and And-o are Rib secret admirer's aint ya? More objective??? what on eart has Ribero ever done that we need to be objective about? What, score 68 useless points on an 8th place team?? ya who!!!! That certainly warrents the gangsta crew suit now doesn't it.

Maybe there's a master plan why he's now on the 1st line.  Probably showcasing him for a possible trade?

You know what makes me laugh hardest of all is how you insult young people, the guy who started the thread, and Ribs all in one post with misinformed and outright SAD arguments. I am going to guess that you are really old because I think I remember reading in a history book that they used to spell the word Yahoo as "Ya Who!!!" around......... NEVER!

Furthermore the argument that 68 points is both lousy and merrits the name fluffball is narrow minded. I think we should try and remember that it was the HIGHEST TOTAL ON THE TEAM, and also having 68 points 2 years ago in a league where only superstars had a chance at cracking 100 is a good thing... so is getting 8th place and making the playoffs.

I can see why people are sick of seeing Ribs cough up the puck and get outworked at every corner but my god he is like 170 lbs on a good day in a league of men way above 200. I am amazed he gets any points at all.

Anways he is clearly lacking in a lot of his game including his attitude but he is far from the lousy piece of garbage people make him out to be. I wish there could be reasonable arguments made on this board rather than the usual "TRADE THIS GUY AND THAT GUY CUZ THEY SUCK!"

Mdmrules. OK, I agree, that post did come off as insulting. Actually did not mean it to come off that way. What I was trying to say is my feeling is that Ribero fans tend to be younger. Ribero is young and plays a fancy game which generally apeals to some of the young guys I know. I did say in the post that I was not trying to insult youth...but I suppose it souded as such. I could have insulted the elderly. My dad who is 70 still thinks Henri Richard could crack the habs line up...And I think he is serious

Secondly, Ribero is a buttercup. Period. Skills or not he wil never win a cup. Is that what you want on the habs???

Thirdly, I would not say I'm old How about under 40, is that considered old? Ya who, came from a Friday night at around 12:00( us old people tend to get tired around then)---Plus I never was that great in English in school. More a math guy. Who oops::

Hey MDM, let me remind you about this all-encompasing gem you arrived on the board with

I am just curious where the people calling for the heads of every important member of the franchise are when we win? Does one game really make you change your mind? Does Gainey still need to go? How about CJ? Theo and Ribs? What miracle did these guys pull off to merrit staying with the team? And why are there like 20 new posts evey time we lose but like 3 when we win. We must be the worst fans in the world if all we have is negative things to share.
