reassessing our future ....again !!

............for the past four or five years , I like others have been patiently waiting for the arrival of a new Hab order .....I am beginning to wonder

in goal ...well the great Theo of three years ago is nowhere to be found ....I am sorry that Garon is gone ....I'm not sure what to make of the Carey Price pick and just hope we didn't blow it again ...personally I would have taken Brule and if not available Bourdon ....easy to say now .......Danis should be up with the big club and why he isn't is beyond me ....even if small Michaud is better than Huet .....who knows how Heino and Halak will pan out

defense ......god how long did we wait for Hainsey and Komisarek to become the next anchors on defense ...on defense is where Gainey will really have to work some magic ....only Markov and Souray are acceptable ..however out of the blue so to speak may come some surprises  BIG surprises ....6'3" 200lbs Philippe Pacquet (1987-03-01) drafted 229th overall in the 2005 entry draft could be the steal of the entire 2005 draft ....6'5" 210lb Ryan O'Bryne currently playing in the NCAA looks like another good one ........the rugged and skilled Alexei Lemelin who competed in the world juniors is a very good prospect , but will he ever leave Russia .....after these few players the Habs system woefully thin defensively and since any new recruits are unlikely to make the team for at least two years ..... a trade or free agency are the only recourse for the Habs .........more waiting

Perezhogin and Kostitsyn seem to be having some difficulty adjusting to a new culture and who can blame them , nonetheless they haven't come anywhere close to meeting the hype , Tomas Plekanec even in the new NHL is still small and is at best a more skilled version of Oleg Petrov ....Chris Higgins is the most steady of the new bunch , but hardly a game breaker ...

the last place standing of the Bulldogs shouldn't come as a surprise , there's not much down on the farm ...Locke will never play in the NHL ....however Maxim Lapierre will , this guy is Begin on roids and with a better set of hands ...take this to the bank ..this guy will become a second line player .....on way are Chipchura and Latendresse ....every team could use a Chipchura who has what the Habs lack most ( work ethic ) ...Latendresse while he wowed everyone at the Habs training camp , he was a major disappointment at the world juniors ....too much poutine ..he was at least 20lbs overweight and consequently had no jump

.............so my fellow Hab Fans as usual there good news and bad news , things will get better but not for awhile .........more waiting ...next year country .....patience ......our day will come
