.............I think Theodore will turn it around , but as long as NHL teams keep signing players to long term contracts that are not tied to individual and team performance and productivity these situations are going to continue to arise ...I'm hoping he's bigger than this , but the way I look at it Theo has his money and he doesn't have to perform ....likewise Ribiero
not to throw rocks at other posters , however I distinctly recall over the summer months when the vast majority of this board was clamouring for Gainey to sign Theodore to a long term deal ....if he hadn't there would have another riot on St.Catherines ....now Theodore has his deal and many want to blame Gainey ......
non-structured contracts are problem facing several general managers and was an item not rectified in the new NHL
Excellent point. And welcome back. I blame the def more than anything. Forwards not chipping in and a lack of leadership in D. We have the makings of a great team in a few years, maybe next, with all the rookies wilth superskills. Seriously, though, I think the D is shot. And it's wierd because the individuals aren't that bad. Maybe it's RG?
I know that I and many stated they were not happy signing Theo long term to those bucks and then only giving Koivu a one year! I blamed Gainey then and I will now!
