How much of this is Gainey's fault...

How much of this is Gainey's fault? Letting Garon go prematurely for a canter that has underachieved his whole career! Garon would be our number one this season easy.

Not reacting in the off season to fill needs. Could of had guys like Pronger, Amonte, Peca Brewer and even Luongo at season's start. Just some sample players mentioned as there was alot of movement that Gainey missed out on. He must of misjudged his team as being competive enough.

What was his expectations anyway? Was it to rebuild again with our youth that we have so many of that we can give a couple away (still paying Hainsey's wage)? Was it to compete and just make the playoffs then hope Kovy will show up again like last year and be dominant to win a series?

Is it possible he also misjudged injuries especially to Koivu? How about Kovy's knee? He must of knew about that!

Why did he sign Theo long term? An inconsistant overrated Goalie! Obviously as Mario stated to sell tickets and keep marketing the french goalie! Maybe he shouldn't of been swayed by outside forces!

Why did he sign Saks to a one year?

Why tell Bonk, an underachiever to start with, he just expected a solid defensive game as And-o pointed out!

For those that think Gainey is God, I don't think he is perfect! Has Mr. Patient reacted to the situation to help CJ yet or is he letting him burn with a soft team!

Too many questionable moves and non-moves!

From what I'm hearing, next years batch of free agents are supposed to be quite impressive. So doesn't it make sense to take the time to evaluate how the team fares under the new rules of the NHL then make the moves? Coming in we all expected our speed to be a huge advantage and the fact that Theo had some of the smallest goalie equipment already to play in our favour, but things don't always pan out. Gainey's proven he's a his worth as a GM in Dallas so why would it be any different here?

Problem is we're not in Dallas and we don't have a Madano or Hull at their prime. We now know that teams have adapted and the better teams are rising up. Remember what CJ said, that they were playing reckless hockey at seasons start and getting away with it but now teams have adapted and playing better defensively and with the new rules! This team was lucky to start the season with points by surprising teams with speed but that isn't working anymore!

Most of the sports writers were picking the Habs to probably not make the playoffs before the season started. Are they all stupid and Gainey smart?

We all know that hockey is a business as we are not that far removed from the CBA lockout! So then the manager has to take some blame for a losing and underachieving product that he is marketing!
