Well buddy I am at a loss here. My buddy has tried everything to get this team going. Benchings, tough practices, meetings, new systems, new lines.. EVen another time out last night hehe (ya I thought of old And-O). It seems every game it is something different. Last week it was lack of a center and no scoring. Now we score 8 goals in two games and Theo does not show up. I stand by the fact that CJ is a good coach. Demers on RDS last night stated he felt that Julien was the best coach the Habs have had since Bowman. Having said this, the bottom line are results and Claude knows that. I amnot really sure that a hard a## like Sutter would be the answer. Julien has tried the hard A## approach and the team is responding but there is still something missing. To me, it all starts and ends with goaltending and coaching. I am not bashing Theo, just stating the painfuilly obvious. We have waited all season for him to come around and no dice. He does not even take ownership when he does play a bad game (the closest I have heard him to doing that is "I know I am not playing well enough for what I am getting paid" Like duhhhhhhhhh). It is like he has the big contract and now just shows up in body not mind.
How long do we allow this? EIther the coach has to go or the goalie or both. The sad part is I am seeing a team effort now but no results.

I hope the team management will stand behind Julien. As for Theo, I'm sure he still has some market value to some team that needs goaltending. A new start away from the spotlight might revive him. I'd hate to see him sent down and put on waivers and get picked up by another team for nothing. I'd rather see him get traded for some decent return.

I dunno, Barry, if the effort is there the results will come eventually. I have faith in CJ, and I can't see Theo being traded, so I guess we'll have to stick it out. I'm pretty sure And-o has a different opinion. It looks like I'll get to see tomorrows game, and the way things are going I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it. I get so caught up in the emotion of it I'm no good at the analysation part of it, so I'll be looking forward to your posts. good luck!

Funny, isn't it, how some posters go all over the technical side of things - barry, JoHab, a few others - while other posters go mostly with emotional or general comments - you, davida, brooklyn, habgirl, a few others. And-o is in a category by himself.

I dont know Nilsey. When I say that Julien is the coach for this team and is a very qualified coach, I say that without an ounce of bias at all. He has had way too much success wherever he has been, including, up until lately, with the habs. He is a proven winner. But maybe it is just a coach/team chemistry thing. I don't know at this stage. I have said it before and will stand by it. And I am not bashing Theo. Team success at any level from Atom to NHL starts in goal. Team confidence starts in goal. The power play and penalty killing effectiveness starts in goal. 40 games in and Theo has been given more chances to come around than any other team would give him. The time has come to give him a fresh start elsewhere. Clear his mind. Get out of the pressure. As a goalie and a coach I know that he is not going to come out of this. He has been going the other way. The fact is that we deserved to win the la 2 games and would have with average goaltending.

I have to say, CJ sure is trying pretty much everything possible! When is everyone gonna get on board though and admit that Saku would best be a #2 centre! ...lets end this and get a number one guy! A REAL NUMBER ONE! ....and use Theo to do it!
Ando, I'm willing to side with you on part of the equation. As much as I respect what Saku has done over the years, and as much as I love to watch him set up plays when he is on, I'm not sure that he is ever 100% healthy. I'm talking about nagging, annoying, recurring injuries and I most certainly am not challenging his heart or commitment. So I agree about the need for a #1 center.
I can't agree with Theo being the "bait", however. Everyone is probably tired of hearing me wail for Danis. Until we are able to see what he can do over a longer run, we have no goalie but Theo. ("U-et Baby" belongs on a sea cruise, not between the pipes.)
Could Danis do any worse than surrender 11 goals in two games? It;s hard to imagine.

Barry, you understand this game from multiple perspectives. Why, oh why, leave any goalie between the pipes after 4 goals go in? Sure, two goals were deflections off our guys, but 11 goals in 2 games???

I couldn't agree more. Best coach in years. But mark my word, should he get fired (and I hope to God he doesn't), I expect Bob Gainey himself to take the reins as head coach for the remainder of the season.
