Geeeeeeeeeez, that was some hockey game.  The first period was sooooo intense.  Our boys did a helluva job out there, lots of huge hits.  I've gotta give the Ruskies credit though, they came out hard in the 2nd period.  I never did know what the Ref was yackin at the Russian bench until a buddy phoned me to say they had scored but the Goal Judge missed it.  I thought he was warning the teams about all the high sticks that were floating around and trying not to let things get out of hand.  Anyway, it was a great win and Chipchura looks pretty good.  Can't say the same for LaTendresse.  I don't think he got 5 shifts...........waaaay toooo soft.  T'was a special night sitting with my son at the game, does'nt happen too often in a Dad's lifetime, take note you Dad's & Mom's.  Our next big night together is Jan. 21, we'll both have our respective jerseys on as we enter the annual "Battle of the C's" at GM Place.......nufsed

We're #1.........We're #1.........We're #1..........We're #1........................................

normie's 20th post.......better get a move on before that "newbie" Clegger catchs me...cheers

That goal miss was pretty bad - the puck was over the line by about six inches.  You might say Canada would have won anyway, but at 2-0 (going to 2-1), it would have made a huge difference in momentum shift.

I saw the Canada-Russia Gold Medal Game in Halifax a few years back, with my wife of all people (she hates hockey but got caught up in the hype for that one).  Sadly the result was not the same - Russia won 3-2 - but the game was also a barn-burner.  Ovechkin played in that one, but I don't reall him doing much.
