These may just be some ramblings, but I've been thinking lately. How much of the Habs' downfall is actually the media's fault? I keep hearing that the media always has a say in the lineup, that's why people like Ribs and Dags keep being played when they don't deserve it. I know we all want to win, but shouldn't we all care enough to shut up? Is it possibly that maybe Bob Gainey is the guy that is finally going to put the media to rest like he did with brisebois? I don't know, I don't really have any solutions, just thoughts.

Gainey isn't really a vocal type, although he did stand up for Brisebois that time, as you stated. It's hard to fight the media in Montreal; they will always be very strong. The team just has to try to ignore it. Easier said than done., I know. It's not just the media, it's also management, as barry33 has said before. The upper office tells the coaching staff who to play. Julien could stand up against that, but could get fired for it.

Well, someone has to take a stand, another one of those classic catch 22 situations. We love our habs so much we're hurting them. And if we don't let management do their thing, it will not ever get better.
