Loss last night

The loss last night can basically be boiled down to poor play on special teams.

We won against Tampa Bay because we were able to score on the PP and shutdown on the PK. Last night we couldn't kill penalties and couldn't score on golden opportunities. We could barely get in the zone when on the PP.

Let's hope we can do better tonight.

Sounding like a broken record I know (and no I am not using this as an excuse..there is NO excuse for lack of effort), but your Special Teams begin and end at Center. To quote a great Ontario philosospher, "This Donut Needs  Middle".  And sooner than later. Having Chris Higgins play center and Jan Bulis anchoring your first line is, in a word, pathetic. And it shows. Gainey needs to have a serious discussion with the Doctors regarding Koivu, Bonk, and Begin's status and prognosis. 2 weeks agod Saks left becauise he felt a "little twinge in his groin". I have been around this game a long time and I can tell you whatever it was, was not a "twinge". I get a twinge when I see Shania in that Habs outfit. Saks did not have a twinge. And I give alot of credit to Luongo. SHots were 30-28 Habs. Scoring chances were 14-10 habs. Obviously this "overated goalie" came to play last night. But alas, we lacked finish too.
