Dear Gary: The ice is not quite bad enough in hockey hotbeds like Atlanta, Tampa, and Miami. I really suggest that you look at expansion into Mexico and Jamaica. The only decent ice the Habs have seen on this road trip is in their glass.


 


The ice in Atlanta was horrid, Tampa was worse, and Florida was just plain dangerous. When the linesmen spend more time patching ice then they do calling offsides, something is wrong. There were large patches of concrete showing tonite and I am surpised no one got hurt. Pathetic. Ya thats what we need. More teams in tropical climates.

First game i missed all of this year....and WORST performance in net of my life....i broke my beloved Theo goalie stick over the crossbar .... and to make things worse...habs lost. Whats this about concrete showing on the ice???

Johab it was horrible (and yes I know both teams have to play on the same ice, but I suspect that Florida is more accustomed to it then Montreal). To start the 3rd period the ref was even on the phone to teh NHL asking if they should continue. There were literally holes in the ice and the refs tried putting the old snow and water and tapping it down with a puck but that is the equivalent of putting beach sand in a pothole. The league is going to have to come up with minimum standards for ice conditions.

My friend from Jamaica (montrego bay) who I am help get a green card, wants a hockey team. They have a jamaican Bobsled team so why not a hockey team. We can call it the "Rasta Robbers"
