I notice that both Ribs and Ryder benefit from not playing together! Most of you seem to like Ryder so much that objectivity is lost when he isn't effective with Ribs thus Ribs gets all the blame!
Even you Rib haters will agree that with one minute left in OT, Ribs makes a great move and anticipates the clearing shot from Hasek but gets tripped up and no penalty. How can that not be a penalty?
Kovy is our on ice leader without a doubt! It is no coincedence that the Habs started losing when he went down!
So far I'm much more comfortable with big Huet in net rather than Theo. He makes the saves he should and is more predictable. He covers more net on his knees and leaves very little room upstairs. It takes a perfect shot or pass to beat him! I hope they keep playing him as we need consistency in net!
If Gainey fills a few holes, this team may surprise in the playoffs. Obviously though we need to get our goaltending issues ironed out. I wouldn't play Theo just because he is payed too much, I would just go with who is hot!
Sundstrom plays bigger with Begin and Ryder. I sure liked this line!
I had no problem with the no tripping penalty, the refs had just missed one against us. What I was baffled at was the fact that Rivet got his 2, then another for unsportmanlike. Then a gross midconduct. When you give a gross, the 2 minute unsportsmanlike is suppose to be taken off.

Actually Jay, I felt overall those 2 guys called the game as it should be. For the most part they called the obstructions etc. But they allowed BOTH teams to play down the stretch. I felt one of the best officiated games in some time. Kudos to them. As far as Rivet goes, it takes alot to have a ref blow his cool like that so whatever he said must have been bad (maybe "your mother wears army boots"?).
I felt that Ribs and Dagenais played their best games of the year by far. Dagenais worked his butt off as did Ribieoro.

I don't know Barry. Ya I did think Ribs worked hard last night, but he was very ineffective all night. He just lacks the assets to be worth very much, other than a few good hockey instinct plays here and there.
Did everyone notice how potent Ryder was last night not playing with the big concrete block named Ribero???
Barry, I agree with you on the offciating, wasn't bad, not the best I've seen this season, but fairly good considering some of the other things I've seen. However, I know for a fact they got **** on in the rooms for not taking off the extra 2 on the board that was replaced by the 10.
Ironically Jay I had that situation as a coach two years ago and it was my son who got the double minor and the 10. To the ref's credit he went to the dressingroom and got the rule book and checked and took the extra 2 off the board. (By the way I benched my son the next game because I do not tolerate unsporstmanlike conduct penalties)
