Get ready to have our @$$3$ handed to us.

Face it guys, even with kovalev back on tuesday, do you think we even have a chance against ottawa? Kovalev will play maximum 18 mins ( most of which is on the PP ) Kovalevs first game back will not be his best game, he will be rusty, tired and just finding his groove again. Will he make a difference, sure. But not a big enough one to win the game. Theo might still be out with his bruised knee on tuesday, so there goes any POSSIBLE good goaltending. Chances are they will start Emery against us again, which im getting tired of seeing. ( When a team starts their back-up against the habs, i take it as an insult....even if its to rest hasek....they feel that even without their #1 they can take us....which is true but still) Furthermore, CJ is playing Ribs and Dags WAAAY too much, and he had Ryder on the ice 2 games in a row when he shouldnt have been and Ryders dumb penalties cost us the game BOTH times. You'd think he'd learn after the first time. Anyways, after the way they killed toronto last night....i expect us to be handed our first MAJOR blow-out of the season with Theo and Huet combined letting in 7 goals. 5 on theo and 2 on huet in the final frame. Final score 7-2. They way the team is going right now....i dont expect CJ around after the new year. Sorry to say ...cuz i really like the guy...but he just isnt getting the job done....

I hate to say it Johab but neither is Theo and he will be around in the New year.  It is just a fact in sports that underachieving players stay around and the coach moves on. Thankfully Julien will have a long and succesful career.

The unfortunate part Johab is that Julien will be the victim of being too faithful to certain players, Theo number one. Because of the close relationship they had when he coached Theo in Hull, CJ has shown a TON more faith and patience than any other coach would have. His reward? Theo stays and draws a big check, CJ moves on. Nice.

Got to agree with Barry, Theo is being paid $16.5 million over three years and so far he is playing like a minor league goalie. If only it was as easy to unload an overpriced goalie than blaming the coach...

i wonder if there are ways to have pay cuts on a players salaries...sorta like bonuses for good play, penalize them for poor play. If they DONT reach 30 wins or if they dont have a save % abouve .905 or a GAA under 2.50. Have an arbitrator decide how much is average in stats and then again for how much should be taken away if he doesnt perform to the level they are asking for the amount they are paying. I cant argue the fact they theo isnt worth 16.5 million/3yrs....at the moment...no more than 3 million. But i wonder if those pay cuts exist....could be useful...

Yup could be but not available. It's kinda like when he won the hart and vezina and signed the last big contract, he stunk it up the next year. Then he turned it on in the next, wonder if we will only see the real Theo next year.

We'll see the theo we saw a few years back when is contract is about to be up. Its sad that he has to be motivated by a new contract to actually play well.

I would LOVE to see that. How many times have you seen average players on a long term contract all of a sudden have a career year. The next summer the agent informs team management that their client will not report to camp unless his contract is re-negotieted for more money because, all of a sudden, his client is a superstar and can no longer play for the measly salary he is getting. So , said client sits home in September and practices with the local Junior team until team management caves and gives him more money.

Can anyone recall a player siging a hue contract and turning out to be a bust or having a terrible year and telling management "When I come back to play next year I want to take a slary cut because I am being overpaid the way I am peforming". Uhmmmm...no.

Johab, I agree with most of what you had to say however I feel you are being too hard on Ryder.  How many other Habs players have 15 goals this season.  The penalties he took in both games came at very inopportune times resulting in goals however, I am sure Ryder didn't plan on the puck going over the boards in the game in Edmonton(different from say a tripping, boarding, obstruction, etc.) and had no control once the shot was taken.  Also, I understand last night's penalty in OT was a very weak call to say the least (as stated by some of the posters to this board-I cannot comment on the penalty as I did not see any of the game).  Were the other 3 goals scored by the Wild the result of Habs penalties?  Do we point the finger at Komo for taking a hooking penalty resulting in the tying goal being scored in the 3rd period?  We seem to zero in on penalties taken in the last minute of a game or in OT especially when goals result.  Lets remember that what happens in the complete game usually determines the end result not just one incident.  I appreciate we haven't had much to cheer about in the last 4-6 wks however lets not forget we are Habs fans, they are going through an extended losing period, and they need all the support we can give them.  Eventually things will turn around.

It seems that the Habs are jinxed when it comes to possible controversial goals and OT penalties.  The last game with the Laffs is a prime example ie: the disallowed goal and the penalty just as the game was going into OT.  It is very difficult to defend with only 3 players on the ice and the refs seem to be assessing the Habs a penalty whenever they are involved in OT.

I like CJ as a coach, but for a guy who has a reputation of mentoring young players I don't understand his infatuation with playing Dagenais so fu##ing much.

Maybe he sees something in him that us fans don't get to see, or can't see for that matter.
