Allow me-Julien has to go

Thought I would save certain individuals the bother of starting a new topic today. Lost last night in overtime and it is obvious julien needs to go. Gainey needs to get "his man" in there (whomever that may be...hoping Scotty Bowman comes out of retirement.

Barry obivously you are joking right?

I heard through the rumour mill that Gainey has been looking at bringing in Ted Nolan.  I can't confirm anything - just a crazy rumour

Sorry Barry33 but even Saku's influence won't save CJ's job for long now!

Tell me HONESTLY were you thinking of Ol'And-o when Jacques Lemaire called time-out prior to the beginning of the Ryder penalty in OT so that his #1 unit would be well rested???

I tell ya, And-o chuckled to himself when CJ countered Lemaires time-out in OT with one of his own (at least the guy is learning something before he heads back to the bus leagues).  Too bad he never thought to take his time-out during the 5-on-3 powerplay though...it would have put the game out of reach!  Oh well...ANOTHER lesson learned!!!

Ted Nolan?   Never.  Trust me there are two coaches on Gainey's short list.  Doug Jarvis, and Guy Carbonneau.  If there is a cpoaching change, not that I'm endorsing one at this time, it would come from those two.

Yes I am joking. Coaching is not the probloem in Montreal however a few so called experst on this board feel it is so I am humouring them. As for Ted Nolan, he is not available and whoever started that rumour needs to do his homework. Nolan has a contract with Robert Irving of the Irving family who owns the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL. Nolan was brought to Monctgon last summer to coach the Wildcats because they are hosting the Memorial Cup in May 2006.

All the people who want to get rid of CJ because of "lack of experience" will no doubt be pleased to see Guy Carbonneau and his years of cup-winning coaching man the helm.

Boring, boring, boring. If you can't think of anything else to talk about, why bother?

I agree brooklynhabfan...this is B.S!

This business about Julien doing a poor job. This team is overachieving and full of rookies and injuries. What is with these panicky fans who can't handle a slump? Every team has to have its slump, and why not now in December, when all the guys are hurt, etc...?

I'll say it again. Good thing for Calgary they didn't panic when Sutter couldn't get the troops going at the beginning of this season. That was a lot worse than our slump.

My problem with CJ is not that he has "lost the room" as we have liked to say of late. My problem with CJ is the same as my problem with Therrien, Vignault and on and on... And that is bad judgement when it comes to developing youth. If you want to develop a goal-scorer, then he must be played regularly with an offensive line. Sticking rookies on the lower 2 lines to add some offensive punch to the defensive lines is just plain bad coaching... How many guys did Montreal draft only to destroy their development with bad personnel decisions?

You can be sure that a Jason Spezza rarely saw 4th line duty alongside some goon and a checking forward. It's just plain ridiculous to be doing this to Perezhogin, Higgins or any other potential prospect. Too much juggling linemates, not enough consistency...

i think putting the young guys in the top lines or giving them a lot of ice time could also be a mistake. the habs do NOT have a lot of fire power  and rookies tend to be defencive liabilities. even the top rookies in the league are for the most part in the minus colum.  if we barely squeek by on games as it is   why would you put the rookies on the ice for more possibilities of scoring chances against the habs?  puting them on the 3rd and 4th lines and in a defencive role will slowly teach them how to be resposible defencivly at the same time possibly scoring a goal or 2. we are in a slump   the last thing you want is having a bunch of rookies making mistakes and costing us even more games    let the habs get some momentum back   get a little higher in the standing  and THEN give the young guns a chance to shine when we CAN take the chance   thats my oppinion anyways.  with what CJ has to work with, i think hes doin an alright job.  i think some players should get a bit more ice time and some players should get less   but i am in no way an NHL coach  and  i would never do a better job than Julien. he may not be the best coach in the NHL  (only second season so i don't expect him to be)  but he is no where close to bein the worst.  plouf   i absolutly agree with you    we need to step away from the panic button   that button is to for pressing  untill we are closer to the end of the season.

As I said the Ted Nolan rumours are not even wirth discussing. He has a contract in Moncton and they are hosting the Mem Cup in May. Whomever comes up with these rumours needs to at the very least make sure they are "doable."
