Sounds like all the Winnepeg and Hallifax fans hoping for a team can forget about it. Another 5 or 6 years of this sort of thing, and we'll be right back where we started from.
And just to put an extra chill in the air, the only Canadian team that's safe from an eventual move would be the Leafs. I'm not talking about now, but combine a general reduction in revenues for Canadian teams with a ballooned cap, and.... maybe I'm being pessimistic
If and when the ratings (and/or popularity) of the NHL increases in the USA. Which is what everybody wants. So will the salary cap. It's only a matter of time before the salary cap goes up to some respectable numbers (like 45M and over). I do not like the revenue sharing as it is today in the CBA. So all of those who hope to bring in more Canadian franchise, forget it.
