The reason i think we should start Heut is because Gretzky is the coach of the Pheonix and he has already said that Theo will not play for team Canada. Is Theo's record so much worse then Brouder's? or Luongo? No. Therefore Gretzky must have done his scouting and relizes Theo's flaws. Gretzky will have his team exploit Theo's weekness and that could be catostrophic.
I know that Theo is are 5 million dollar goalie and some say we can't piss him off. Well i think thats the problem he plays every game and is not consistant and never get reprimended by having a back up start a game. I remember when Garon would play great for three straight then Theo would come back and play great just to maintain his starter position.
There are two reasons I agree with you. First of all, it may be a shakeup for the whole team and they may play differently or harder in front of Huet. And secondly Phoenix knows nothing about Huet whatsoever. As Martha says "And that's a good thing".

Yes, I totally agree with you. (Didn't understand the topic at first, but figured it out as I was reading)...
Huet should be the starting goalie tonight, definitely! I can't wait to see him in action, maybe he'll be hot as hell! Plus, it would be a subtle way to whip Theo a little bit. Since Theo probably wants to impress Gretzky tonight, not giving him the chance to do so would be a way to wake him up, I think. A good point was raised, they (phoenix) know nothing about Huet...

Well put. I'm under the impression that anything is good as long it's part of a support structure that can nurture Theo back on track. Not having to face one of the all time great goalies may let him relax and think of the games ahead. Another snowfacing could be terminal at this point.
Having said that, if he is in, I would imagine he would want to prove something against a guy who has a plane ticket to Torino in hs pocket while he'll be watching on TV.
I think starting Huet would be a very smart move for the team as a whole.I am concerned they will take Pheonix for granted
Trust me on this one david. This team is in no position to take anyone for granted right now and they know it. If anything they need a boost of confidence somehow. Scoring first would be a huge help.

Who are you calling one of the all-time great goalies? CuJo? That's a stretch in my books. Good, yes, but no Ken Dryden.
I agree with your last comment. Theo needs a good motivator, and maybe being snubbed by Gretzky would do it. We'll see.............

Actually, between '02-'03 and '03-'04, Huet played in 53 games for the Kings. I can only assume that he has played against the Coyotes.

Tied for 7th in All Time Wins, 45 shutouts, 3 time All-Star and an Olympic Gold I'd have to at least elevate him above good. No?-- Edited by brooklynhabfan at 16:55, 2005-12-13
Gee, I must have been asleep while all that happened! Three time all-star in some 15 years is good, but again I wouldn't say great. Anyway, poTAYto/poTAHto........
