This sees a VERY capable center coming to Montreal, probably rid our problems on the second line. Other teams would have to respect 2 lines instead of just one ( Really....Ribeiros line isnt THAT scary ) It also sees a VERY big and good Defenseman coming our way. The guy also has a mean flare to him. Like souray, but hes bigger. Detroit gets younger, and saves alot of money on their roster. They wont be able to afford this team much longer.

Sorry Johab, but you couldn't pay Holland a million dollars to make this trade. Way to one-sided. But you are right about one thing, it would save Detroit money, but they are not in salary dump mode.
Wont happen Datsyk for Ribiero ( thats what the trade boils down too) Holland wouldn't give Datysk up for Ribs. Guys were aiming too high, if Ribiero gets traded it won't be for a player of Datysk's ability. Ribiero just isn't that talented and other teams know that. Love to see it happen but it just won't
Again, we've gotta stop assuming that we've got a candy store full of treats that everyone wants.
Even our best trade bait, Kovalev (inconsistant almost everywhere he's been), Saku (injury prone), and Theo (see all 3,246 posts on this) aren't on the top of anyone's list
Look at guys like Savard or Mike York, great value for money, and that's what we're looking at in the near future. If we want a superstar, it's gonna be a cash, picks and hot prospect (Young Guy, anyone?) that will land it.
Having said that, I think the last thing this team needs is a superstar. Without the right setting, these flashy guys are like a diamond in a bathtub, down the drain before you know what hit you!
I disagree on Souray, I think hes just starting to pick it up. I think getting rid of him would be like we are taking one step forward and three steps back.

Also, I don't think we'd get much more than a nosebleed pick and some hamilton shirt-stuffing in return. If he gets over his blue (balls?) streak, his upside might be worth having him stick around
