Even if we got him, would Bertuzzi be the best way to spend our cash and trades? He's got another year on a fat contract, so if his slow start continues, he could be more dead, untradeable weight on the cap.

I would think twice about chucking the farm on that one BG

I just hope what ever deal they make we do not wind up with someone elses dead weight   ala Bonk

Any deal to get T. Bertuzzi to Montreal should include a center going the other way.   Even though he is a right winger, I would think that either Ribeiro or Bonk should be traded.  I wouldn't trade M. Ryder.


My only question would be his salary, at over 5 Million wouldn't we have to make cap room?

Yeah, i gotta say, the cash/available trade bait equation doesn't make sense, I'd rather be going for some guys like Marc Savard or Dave Scatchard who will give you decent value, and leave lots of room open to snatch off season tasties
