Could be interesting. He's supposed to be a Begin type player, I've heard. But who's he filling in for then? I don't believe Kostitsyn has been sent down.
I only got to watch the second period... so I am not sure. I read a post on here that he only played 2 minutes or something... idk.. maybe he was just backup...
My post was that he and Perezhogin and Kostsitsyn played a total of 2 minutes between them in the first two periods. According to yahoo, Murray didn't even take one shift! What a waste.
On another note Kots played even less than the night before he played 29 seconds. and Murray played none. Next time leave these guys in Hamilton and don't even dress a fourth line.
By the way, there is no trade in the works Bonk just pulled his groin... again. YOu notice that when Bonk isn't in the lineup we win? Conincedence? i think not.
When you are struggling as a team you cannot afford to play your 4th line much. Toronto had players last night that may have played 2 shifts. In the Ottawa game the McGratton line got out there long enough to scrap (and only after the game was 5-1). When these guys get called up from Hamilton they know their role. But you cannot "not even bother dressing a 4th line" even if they do not play. Those guys are their for insurance. Guys like Kots are young and will be around a long time.
I can tell you that any one of those guys prefer riding the pine in Montreal to playing in Hamilton hands down.

Not sure I agree it has to be that way. Sometimes the best thing when you are struggling as a team is to throw the energy guys out there. But I see your point. I'm sure that's CJ's rationale.
I agree.....why bother sending him up.......not even a shift.....c'mon, send him out to start the game and line him up against Avery......if anything put a little something in Avery's head.......guaranteed Avery would be taking a dumb penalty!!! I truly think that now when he gets sent back down he has to clear waivers and someone will pick him up......my prediction is Dallas. Tippet's brother coached Garth in Regina and knows what a character player he is. He has struggled in Hamilton to date but I wouldn't give up on him yet. He's tough, gritty, a sound penalty killer and great in the room. It's a good thing his parents drove 5 hrs last night to sit and watch him ride pine the entire game. We really have little depth when the coaches don't even want to play their call ups(Cote, Kositishyn, Murray, Lappierre, etc.)......why Bother?????
