Ever since I went to see the habs play at the Bell Center they've been on a losing streak hopefully my return to the Bell Center will change that. I have tickets to the game against Ottawa. If Habs win, that means I broke the curse and will write up an apology to everyone on the forum, and to anyone else deserving of it
Well at least it's not me...I started following the Canadiens in the 69-70 season, and they missed the playoffs for the first time in 35 years, something like that. I was sure that I had jinxed them. The following year, as we all know, they bounced back and won the cup. You never know, hopefully the same thing will happen to you. Speaking about the '70-'71 season the one thing people seem to remember is Ken Dryden in the playoffs. I do too, of course, but it seems to me that the season turned around for us when Frank Mahovalich came from Detroit (on Jan 13th, my birthday, I recently found out). So Nil, you other vets, what do you think?
Dryden was a late addition for the playoffs. Maybe I can get him to leave his cabinet post to come back, although I think he a bit older lol, isnt Frank a Senator in Canada too??? I dont mean Ottawa
I started following the Habs in 56 (19 that is) and they won 5 cups in a row so I don't think I am to blame. Seriously, we are going through a difficult period now. Theo has not been playing well and has been letting in the usual soft goals which, for a team that is low scoring, means the difference in winning or losing a game. Also, because of injuries, the lines are constantly being changed plus there are a few players whose production leaves a lot to be desired. We alll think we have the answer to the team's poor performance (armchair coaches) but lets be patient and wait for the return of Koivu, Kovy, Markov and Komi and things should start to improve. Lets hope so. If not, then changes will probably be made.
Ok I ll go for that First back Komi ? second back Markov Third hopefully the captain then in about a month Kovy. So by the new year if things do not change moves will be in order correct ???? Of course that depends on future injuries too

I've known my birthday since I was a small child!
Seriously, I remember the Big M being a big part of that team, as was Jean Beliveau, who was at the tail end of his career but still contributing significantly both on and off the ice.
