Just heard about it and was about to post.

All I can say is wow! What a great deal for San Jose, and what a bad deal for Boston. But I'm happy to get Thornton out of the East, and especially a division rival.

I dont know about that  I cannot recall the players but Bob Mckenzie and Mcguire just said on TV the Bruins are 100 percent improved. Something tells me though the Boston fans will be pissed  he did have 7 goals last 13 games. They liked him just like they loved Bourque

Wayne Primeau, Marco Sturm, and Brad Stuart and they save 1.66 mil... not bad.

I think the Bruins made out well - Brad Stuart is a good defencemen in my eyes.  Marco Sturm is a speedy winger that can score 20 goals and Wayne Primeau is a good grinder.

Stuart's a solid player, but this sure puts a lot of pressure on him.

Sturm's good, but no superstar like Thornton.

Wayne Primeau's a journeyman

I honestly can't believe this...but hey, I'm glad not to see Thornton in the division any more.

Hey Gainey, are you paying attention? GMs do make trades in the first half of the season!

Dont worry about Gainey, the guy knows what it takes to win. The only reason there was a trade between these 2 are because they have been hovering around the basement of the league and they were feeling too much pressure from the owners. One of those DO SOMETHING OR YOUR GONE moves. Gainey is under no pressure at all. Think about it, How can our team do well with our best offensive guy out, 3 defensemen out, Bonk out, Bulis out, Koivu now out. I mean our team has been playing with 4 rookies on the team and now 5 and tonight quite possibly 6. Streit, Higgins, Perezhogin, Plekanec, Cote, Kostisyn. We're no better than the washington capitals at the moment. Give Gainey and the rest of the team a break guys. We have an ENTIRE week to get healthy next week because the habs dont play a game until the following saturday after this weekends game against LA. Dont jump too fast. Gainey is where he is for a reason and you all arent there for a reason. Im not panicing because its a slump, teams go through them, ill start panicing when we are WAY out of a playoff position or are fighting for one in a close race and our team isnt doing anything about it.
