Hainsey just got recalled...and was therefore on waivers until noon. Komisarek is off for a personal reason. That leaves FIVE d-men for tonight...Rivet, Dandy, Beef, Streit and Hainsey (IF HE CLEARS WAIVERS) for tonite. ...when the defense returns...Gainey will be forced to move someone (or risk losing a guy to waivers for nothing).
We will now be playing the most potent team in the League with Rivet, Dandy, Streit, The Bouillon Cube and whatever they can stick in a uniform from Hamilton.

Could this be a blessing in disguise ? Maybe this will be the factor that elevates the players. I hope guys like Mark Streit show us what management has been seeing . We could sure use Patrice Brisbois...

Make that four..................
I wonder if Bonk can play defense?

The guys better be flying tonight, because this is insane. Hopefully Ottawa will get overconfident, and our guys will play like they have something to prove.
Brisebois was a very good dman, and our fans' booing drove him out of town. Dandy aint bad, but his play sure could be A LOT better than it has been. But if there's any night for him to show us why Gainey signed him it's tonight!
Brisebois is more talented (though maybe not as good a skater as Dandenault)
But Brisebois had no confidence while playing for Montreal; he was tentative and prone to bad decision-making.
Dandenault knows his limits and starts with a strong fundamental game. As he gets comfortable with the team he's bringing a little more offense all the time, but knows his first role.
Brisebois was expected to provide more than he could deliver, and seemed always racked by confusion about where to put his energies. This came out in disjointed play where he'd overcommit or undercommit.
The Brisebois problems are solved in Colorado where the pressure is reduced and all the qualities in his game are coming out.
