Well, pregame wise we've talked our fair share but i know there will be PLENTY post game talk, win or lose. This board hasnt seen anything yet. I predict this board to either errupt in a riot if the habs lose, and if we win, an erruption of negative comments ;).....By the way....how do you make a topic "sticky" ....god that sounds bad... i looked and i dont see anything about it...

I am going to have some one manufacture 24" tall stuffed referees in the black pants and striped shirt. I will send them to all my poster friends. When there is a game that was called badly by the refs, after the game  we can all just punch the hell out of the thing. I am making mine with the red hair you know Kerry   Kerry who ???  oh ya  Frazer

Ray Emery is starting, if he wins he beats the record for the best strat to a NHL career. Would be 9-0 is 8-0.

Emery starting again vs Habs - third time.  He beat us twice and we were close both games.  This game goes 1 of 2 ways - either the Habs are fired up and play their best game of the year, winning 4-1.  Or they get trounced after a slow start because they can't shake the letdown of the past few weeks.  6-1.  Either way, I can't see this neing close.  On the otherhand, I'm 0 for 23 in predctions, I think, so let's say 4-3 shootout.

Personally I wish that Gainey would call up Ivanans. A risky move, however if he gets in a scrap with McGratton and pummels him (which I understand he did several times in the AHL) it gives the  Habs more fuel for their fire. Conversely, if Ivanis gets pummeled it further takes wind out of the Habs sails. I just think we need some more emotion (yes And-O from Julien as well although I do not think chasing refs onto the ice after a game is the answer). Maybe crash into Emery a couple times since the opposition seem to feel that the blue paint where Theo stands is their living room.

Though I think picking up a three game suspention for pushing an official was a mindlessly stupid thing to do, I think recent events will have a positive effect. There's nothing like the old "us against them" feeling to get a teams blood up. Somebody's gonna have to pay, and hopefully it's starts tonight in Ottawa!

theo is gonna steal this game tonight, i know it......when the habs are desperate and feeling down and out it is exactly the time theo could take over a game, this may be a season changing game right here if we can pull it off

think of the confidence we would ooze from a victory over the best team in the league with a lot of good players not even playing for us....maybe i'm being too optimistic but realistically it could be done

go habs go!!!!!!!!

I can guarentee you one thing. If the habs lose, the entire blame will be thrown on Theo and how he isnt an elite goalie and shouldnt be with the habs and how we should have traded for luongo and so on. People, keep in mind, this is OTTAWA. 20 games in and they ALREADY have 100+ goals. They are on pace for a new NHL record. Have some brains, Theo isnt the only one not able to stop the Sens. But im hoping Theo pulls one out for us tonight. Because honestly...he is the only one capable of winning this one on his own.

I agree that Theo will have to play a mistake free game (as with the whole Hab team) in order for Les Canadiens to come away with two points.  But I don't necessarily agree that should the Habs lose (most probable outcome, BTW) that people would automatically blame Theo.  But, if Theo has a bad game, sure I'll blame him . . .

That said, the Habs will have to play smart/disciplined/work for 60 mins and bury their chances in order to not only win, but compete tonight.

Go Habs!!!

I have said this at nausem and I will say it again. Watch the repley Damn Theo was on his knees before the shot was half way to the net and it goes over his shoulder. If he was standing it wouldhave ben a save. Now  I know we are playing the best, I know we have 4 best players out  but BONK needs to go. He is a do nothing floating skater that needs to just be sent packing  what more can I say

Another thing   If we lose that means 6 of the nine losses are from  Toronto and Ottawa 3 each. We need to solve the scoring problems against Belfour and Emrey  as if we dont all know that.   I still say BONK needs to pack his bags

The word is out to go high on Theo.  I mean, it's so obvious to go top corner on him as he consistently goes down EARLY!

So far we're in the game only down 1 . . . we MUST bury every scoring chance we get in this game to have a chance or there's a real good possiblilty this will end up 3 or 4 to 0 . . . and it'll be our first blanking.

Bonk just can't get un-tracked, for whatever reason.  We need to turn the roster over by about 5-6 players for an honest run next year.

LOL, I hear ya, it can be VERY frustrating.  I've ntoiced that very bad habit of Theo's has been basically here all season, as well as being fairly irresponsible of rebound control.

Oh well, I don't think there were too many Hab fans who honestly thought we'd win tonight in Ottawa.

The Habs are definitely on thin ice confidence and ability wise.  Good thing we managed to get a bunch of 1 goal victories in the bank early.  It appears we're getting back to reality . . . sadly enough.

Tonights game is a perfect example of what it's like to have a crap team. No defenceman, no offensive threats and no goaltending.

We will be getting 3 defenceman back, Kovalev will return and make the team better and Theo ummmm, dunno about Theo. We are not a contender but we have a team that can compete when all of the pieces are in place.

This was not unexpected - we are without a core group of regulars.  So, this loss is not a dissapointment in terms of underachievement.  It like knowing that you won't get a Christmas bonus because you haven't performed your job well so when you are told, sure, it sucks, but you knew it was coming.

19 players dressed (usually we go 20) that it seems they never quit (if shots are an indication.)  And every player except Higgins and Ribiero had at least a shot.  If you can draw a positive from this game is that Ottawa only scored 4 goals - the same as the first 2 games vs OTT when we had all our players.  So, what's that tell you?  I'm curious to know what you think of that perspective.

Nice to see something positive instead of the usual "fire the coach" rhetoric we have been hearing. I for one do not see the total lack of effort that many indicate. I see lapses, slow starts etc., however I have seen that from just about every team we have played (ok maybe not Ottawa, they are a machine).  We have guys in that dressingroom that many on here have claimed are leaders and the "heart and soul" of our team. Time for them to lead.

Not to mention the fact that we had six guys out there with one year of NHL experience between them. Inexperience and inconsistency go hand in hand...

Norskipaul- boy we are woefully thin out there. I for one would not want to have to coach what we had out there last night. Personally I feel the lineup we iced against Ottawa was an embarassment.

Paul and Barry - thx for being clear headed.  We've got a inexperienced team with many role players who haven't found their groove.  Some might not, and some will blow us away with what they are capable of.  The seaon is a quarter over and adjustment time has passed, but with so many regulars out, what can we expect?  I said it before the game in PIT, we lose that one and we won't have success for a while.  Now, we've got some games coming up that are winnable.  We need a few good W's to get the confidence back.  I think the team played hard and the lack of finish might have been because they were desparate for a goal, maybe trying too hard.

Julien seems to be a good coach (too many too many men penalties, but that can also be blamed on young guys and selfish line changes.)  He lead us to the playoffs before and will this year.  Those calling for Bob's head are nuts.  That is the last thing that will change.  Don't blame BG for "losing" Hainsey, the kid lost himself.  I was a huge fan of his, but he just vanished on the team.  If he flourishes out there, great for him.  But we got Begin for nothing so what goes around, comes around.

We will still finish 5-6 in the conference and make it to the 2nd round.
