Cristobal Huet was acquired from the Los Angeles Kings, along with Radek Bonk, in the summer of 2004 in exchange for Mathieu Garon and a draft pick.
MONTREAL – Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Sunday that goaltender Cristobal Huet has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. The Canadiens assigned goaltender Yann Danis to the Bulldogs.
Huet, 30, was assigned to Hamilton for conditioning on Nov. 14, recovering from an off-season knee surgery. He played in four games with the Bulldogs, posting a winless record (0-4-0), a 3.69 goals against average and a .862 save percentage. In his first start of the season on Nov. 16, he made 38 saves in a 3-1 loss against Milwaukee (third star). He has played in 53 career games in the NHL, posting a 14-20-11 record, a 2.41 goals against average and a .908 save percentage.
Danis, 24, played in six games this season with the Canadiens. He posted a 3-2-0 record, a 2.69 goals against average and a .908 save percentage. Danis was unbeaten in three games with the Bulldogs (3-0-0) during a three-game stint from Nov. 9-14, posting a 1.34 goals against average, and a .958 save percentage.
In six appearances with the Canadiens, Yann Danis put together a 3-2-0 record, 2.69 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
I'm not sure how Huet will perform I believe he didnt do to well in hamilton these past couple of weeks. I think Danis actually faired better down in Hamilton...so it looks like the road ahead may get rocky.
